Ok so probably only Brill and a couple other people will post in this, but I had to make a thread anyway.

Finally a finale that doesn't fuggin' disappoint. Aside from Gray's NC, the night was full of all the wins I'd wanted. It was going so nicely I was getting all freaked out that it was all part of the grand master plan to send me crashing down when BJ lost. BUT HALLELUYAH he did it. Gonna have to call my dad up tomorrow and see if BJ made the front page of Tribune Herald at least.

During the pre-fight interviews BJ mentioned that his gym is located in the old cream cracker factory. I almost died laughing at that. He's not kidding that everyone in Hilo knows where that place is and man did that place smell GOOD. He certainly didn't disappoint in the sh*t talking area. He's such a typical Hilo punk, I had to laugh. I know some people might think he's a Richard for choking so long after the tap and the stop, but to me it looked like he was just putting everything he had into that choke to make sure he got it, so much that he didn't hear or see or feel it.

Glad lolandywang got his *** handed to him yet again. He's so freaking annoying I don't care to ever see him fight again. I have been a fan of Joe Lauzon because he's like, a former gamer, lol! Going back to the Gray fight, I think he was dazed but not necessarily unconcious. Though he wasn't as "ok" as he claims he was as you can clearly see him reel back and lie down. I haven't liked Emerson since he tried to excuse his way out of his boring *** second chance fight and I wasn't surprised at all to hear him pull out the injury card. I know it's 100% true for fighters, but they should know saying that is never well accepted.

Overall a really cool finale. It was nice to see them bury things. Also funny as hell that BJPenn.com has been down almost all night. People that have seen it come back up say there's nothing new on it so I'm assuming BJ can't even get onto his own site to update it. LOL! Anyway, I'll have to start going home more in the hopes that I see either of them around town. :D

Oh and as a last bit, Roger Huerto is hawwwwt! Smiley: inlove

I read your entire post and I still have no idea what this show is or what it's about. I do know that now I totally hate typical Hilo punks Smiley: mad

Yeah, very entertaining (and strange) night. BJ looked great, even dominating in stand-up, though I still like Pulver. Jens is a WoW nerd btw :)

I don't mind Andy Wang, it seems he was well liked on the series and is a nice fellow, he just has no head for fighting.

Rob Emerson is a total scrub, wtf is with Dana White giving this two-time loser a fight in the finale over Cory Hill, or...well anyone else on the show that didn't lose TWICE. All he seems able to do is lose with "a fighting spirit" or "the heart of a lion" or any other overused phrase related to MMA.

For the fight itself, No Contest was a ******** decision. I agree Grey was dazed but not "out" as Joe Rogan kept insisting. If you're literally unconscious you don't remember someone tapping, your arm being stuck, etc. And Rob tapped immediately, that was the first condition set for a fight decision, and occurred before Grey appeared to be dazed. That should be the end of it even if after the tap it appears the other fighter is also hors de combat. And in the series after one win, he also laid back prone because he was catching his breath and tired. The hilarious thing was Rob in the interview saying "no I don't consider I won this fight". No ****, you were getting owned.

Shame about Manny's shoulder, he was well on his way to overpowering Nate.

Corey Hill did not fight in the finale because he was injured. Jens revealed that in an interview last week or so.

I really didn't like Manny going into the finale because I found him to be a very boring fighter. He basically went for the takedown then just squatted on his opponent for 15 minutes. It wasn't very interesting imo. Plus with that crap that went on between Karo and Nate, I just kinda soured on him more. Even so, Manny seems like a much more humble person than Karo and Manny did a really great post-fight interview with Joe Rogan.

I found Andy irritating because of his ***** crying fit and then his "I left it all in the cage" crap. Then BJ kicks him off and he calls himself "from Hawaii" when really all he did was grad from UH Manoa. Then he wants to teach the guys asian culture, but pronounces it "sah-kee" bombs. Ok then.

I totally agree with you about Manny, he's the most boring fighter I've ever seen. He won his last two fights by riding, not fighting, which make those episodes so boring.

I was happy to see Lauzon get a win, Wang lose, and Penn beat up Pulver. I wish the Diaz fight wouldn't have ended like it did, I wanted to see Nate work some submissions on him.

I agree that Gray was probably just stunned, not out... but if the Ref was saying he was KO, then you have to go with that.

All in all is was a great night of fights... I can't wait until Stacked.

I can see that about Andy, he doesn't seem to belong in the fight game.

Manny is not just a lay-n-prayer. Against Wiman he dominated all phases including standup. Against Lauzon, Joe has awesome ground defense and is dangerous from any spot at subs, he did all he could. He tries to pound, just isn't a hard puncher. He's worlds better at working actively than Rashad Evans or Josh Koscheck were when they were on the show.

Yeah, Karo is a total douche.

Since I'm going to be home for my reunion next week, I'm thinking of going down and taking a picture in front of BJ's gym just for kicks. If I'm feeling brave enough maybe I'll go inside and see if they sell shirts.

I can honestly say I expected more from the Penn vs. Pulver fight. It wasn't anywhere near as good as I thought it would be. Wang has no showmanship inside the ring. It's fine if you're a great fighter and have no flair. But when you're mediocre at best, you need something to entertain people with. Overall I was happy with the finale, compared to the last few seasons, but still wasn't fantastic.

To give Manny credit, he was true to his word when he said that we'd be seeing a "different Manny" that night because he was much more exciting than he was in the last two shows.

I think BJ was just pissed he couldn't break Pulver's arm, hence the extra time spent choking him out post tap.

It was certainly better than Shamrock V Ortiz 2, which was PPV, and lasted all of 2mins.

However, as TUF finales go, I think they'll continue having a hard time topping Forrest Griffin's fight.

I forgot who he fought and am too lazy to google.

Forrest fought Stephen Bonnar and yeah, I agree. That still stands out as one of the best fights I've ever seen.

I had high hopes for both of them after that fight, and while Forrest has done well, it was sad to see the downfall of Bonnar. I am looking forward to his return in UFC 73 after his steroid related suspension though.

Forrest is interesting to watch but it was kinda brutal to watch him totally flip out when he lost to that guy, I forget who it was. It was the one where all he said was something I like, "I f*ckin lost, that's it." then walked off. We didn't order Victory, so I didn't see his last fight.
