Yeah, I actually like the IMDB list less, though at least it includes movies that aren't in English. Come on though, Terminator 2 is in the top 100.

Blech. If I ever have to see that film again please shoot me. That movie single-handedly made me hate Tom Hanks.

I think I have a crush on him now too. I saw him in something the other day, I forget what, but he was quite dashing.

Miller's Crossing. In everything else he looks like a homeless gypsy. In Miller's Crossing he looks like a homeless gypsy in a suit.

AFI's best movies:

16. "Sunset Blvd.", 1950.
18. "The General," 1927.
49. "Intolerance," 1916.
58. "The Gold Rush," 1925.
61. "Sullivan's Travels," 1941.
82. "Sunrise," 1927.
90. "Swing Time," 1936.

Those are the ones I've missed. I'm glad to see "It Happened One Night" and "Bringing Up Baby" are on the list as they're two of my favorites (Shawshank Redemption too... I wish I could have Morgan Freeman narrate my life, he's got the perfect voice for any sort of voice over). I still think nothing by Spike Lee should be listed. The man can't create anything but one dimensional caricatures of stereotypical characters.

These 'Best 100 xxx' lists **** me off.

Remind me of the "WTF? Liek Satriani is waaaaay better than Van Halen" teen rants.

How in the name of Coppola can you compare Schindler's List with Reservoir Dogs or It's a Wonderful Life.

The best movie is the one you like best.

Nope. I've always thought of that as the quintessential sappy feel-good crap that I generally stay away from. Besides, "Nobody's Fool" is probably a better representative of life in upstate New York.

Seen 38, of those The Sixth Sense stands out as not belonging.

Trading Places should be on it, it's a near-perfect comedy.

BJ Penn is overrated, go go Pulver (Don't believe the hype it's a sequel)

Only 27 for me. Guess I'm not a big movie buff. Like someone else said, *Best of All Time* is extremely subjective.

Watched about 40+ of them and I've never seen the Godfather.

Guess I'm just scared it will oust Clash of the Titans as my favourite movie of all time.

Yup! Haven't posted here in a long while, probably was a nice relief for most of you old miserable bastards. :D

I was just sifting through the first page and it seems like nearly everyone has 10K now. Where is this secret "forum CJ straight to 10k spam" section? Anyway, I'm off to bed as I am waking up early to study for my last diploma exam of high school. It's pretty insane being so close to finally being done, and then now I have to start University for at least another five years of school.

Pikko, have you been watching "So you think you can dance?" And if you have, what did you think about Cedric saving himself again?

Yes yes yes, we are both reality tv nerds.

Seen about 80 of that list, with some I most likely forgot seeing.

At least Bladerunner is on the list, although woefully low.

Lists like these are pretty pointless, it's like book lists of the twentieth century that put the Lord of the Rings as the best. Sure, it's a great book, but let's not kid ourselves, it's not the best of the entire 20th century.

Ah well, some people and companies just have to keep themselves busy.

I've seen most of these, except the super-duper butch or gangster ones, like the Godfather movies.

Don't belong on list:

8. "Schindler's List," 1993. I saw it & don't remember it. That indicates mediocrity to me. Want to watch a powerful film about WWII death camps? Check out Shoah.
24. "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial," 1982. Absolutely not.
50. "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring," 2001. Great movie, but too recent to be included for consideration.
69. "Tootsie," 1982. Huh? Is a man in drag really that impressive?
83. "Titanic," 1997. Please movie, make me cry. Predictable hit you over the head over-sentimentality. Forest Gump falls into this category.
89. "The Sixth Sense," 1999. Again, huh?
94. "Pulp Fiction," 1994. Quentin is already overly impressed with himself, he needs no outside recognition. Another very highly overrated film.
99. "Toy Story," 1995. Very good, but best movies of all time good? Hmmm.

Nexa, I'd suggest you read A Clockwork Orange sometime.

I have...and have no desire to see a film adaptation, regardless of the "genius" of the director.
