There's been a lot of media coverage of Jefferson, even up here in librul ol' Northern California. He sounds like crazy scum, to me. Boot his ***, toss him into jail. What do you want me to say, exactly? That he's worse than Republican crazy scum?

They were all just as corrupt as Jefferson. Although now the rumor is that Chocolate Ray Nagin is going to run for Jefferson's seat when he steps down later this year. And if you think Bill Jefferson is corrupt, just wait for ray ray to get his hands into Washington politics.

I'd be amazed if Louisiana politicians weren't corrupt. Since Reconstruction or even before, that's just how things have been run down there

Corrupt really isn't the word at this point. We make washington look sane.

Just an example, we have a 30 billion dollar state budget , which is essentially double what it was 10 or so years ago and is actually 20 billion dollars too much. Yet instead of trimming the fat and using this extra cash to help out our citizens, governess Blanco is wasting every dime she can and running to D.C. to beg for even more hurricane relief money.

We don't need hurricane relief, we need blanco relief.

Don't look at me, man. I said it before -- Gbaji is slipping over the edge at an ever quickening pace. His vehemence against the Left has been exploding over the past weeks into all sorts of paranoia, conspiracy theories and tin-hattery about the creeping specter of socialism and the doom it shall bring.

It's as if Varrus left some sort of fanatical power vaccuum when he was banned and Gbaji was standing closest to the vortex.

Hmm.

You know this means you can never leave the forums, lest shadowrelm do the same thing. I shudder at the thought of the two clashing at that point.

Are you implying that my being here is keeping Shadowrelm from filling the role of paranoid conspiracy-theorist? Smiley: dubious

What you meant to say was "Shadowrelm better not leave or else you'll go the Gbaji-route".

Right? Smiley: mad

You took the time to register simply to give a gem like "there's liberal bias"?

You should shower more wisdom on us like "I can't believe there's corruption in politics!" and "Those Republicrats and Democrians are all the same!"

Never mind those silly sexual harrassment charges.

What sexual harassment charges? The investigation had to do with the Whitewater deal not anything having to do whatsoever with some kind of criminal sexual misconduct... Oh you mean the lawsuit by Paula Jones??? Nice twist. That had a lot to do with Whitewater and Lewinski.

The media did in fact spend months convincing the masses that committing perjury is perfectly justifiable so long as your intentions are to protect your family.

Got any support for this?

To be perfect honest, I was bored, the forum was looking a bit listless, and I figured that if it's ok for Smash or Joph to post a thread every time someone breathes a story about a Republican doing something they aren't supposed to do, I should be able to do the same.

It does get a bit boring when every single political thread is started by one of the more liberal members of the board and almost always is about something "bad" being done by conservatives. I realized that this might just give some of the readers/posters here the perception that every political issue revolves around debating whether or not Republicans really are evil for doing whatever it is they're doing at the moment. So I figured I'd shake things up a bit and post a few "OMG! Look at what the evil Democrats are doing!!!" thread just to even things up a bit.

At least it woke some of your lazy asses up...

Ok. It also had to do with my amusement that the story had been out and talked about for about a week and yet no one posted anything about it. I'm reasonably certain that had a Jefferson been a republican, that Smash, or Joph, or someone else would have posted something. Just figured I'd do it for them...

I seem to recall in the book Bias by Bernie Goldberg that something like 90+% of the journalist/media vote Dem. No surprise with those numbers that it sat on a back burner.

I thought you had, as well. But that was so long ago, and it doesn't count if it hasn't been endlessly drummed to death.
