This one, says he wants to buy you rockets

Quote:
Princes William and Harry have spoken at length about the death of their mother, Princess Diana, in an interview to be broadcast on American television.

Prince Harry said the decade since her death had passed "really slowly". "Whatever happened in that tunnel...you know no-one will ever know," he added.

His older brother told the programme: "It has been a long time. There's not a day goes by I don't think about it."

Extracts of the NBC News interview were released ahead of it airing on 18 June.

Reading the article about Harry and Wills' TV Interview (to be screened next Monday on NBC) put that song in my head, but raised a question.

Are the US public still snaffling up any stories about Diana and/or her sons?

Oh - and I managed to snaffle 4 tickets to the 'Concert for Diana' they have organised for 1st July:

Andrew Lloyd Webber
Bryan Ferry
Duran Duran
Elton John
English National Ballet
The Feeling
Fergie
James Morrison
Joss Stone
Kanye West
Lily Allen
Nelly Furtado
Natasha Bedingfield
Orson
P. Diddy
Pharrell Williams
Roger Hodgson of Supertramp
Rod Stewart
Take That
Tom Jones
Status Quo
Will Young

Lokking forward to a good few of those acts

Got concert tickets for The Police later in the fall. Only 50 bucks a pop! Also gonna see the Allman Brothers Band & Ratdog playing the same show, which should also be awesome. And the practically prerequisite Dave Matthews show.

My only regret is that I couldn't make it to Bonnaroo. So many awesome bands. Damn you, state exams!

Ditto - always wanted to go because I hear that those are Ben Harper's bestest gigs.

Seen him many times (and had a chat with him once) in Europe/UK, but the audience at Bonnaroo don't appear to keep shouting "Beeeeennnnnn!!!" during his acoustic set. Smiley: oyvey

Alternately you could just hang out near nursing homes hoping random patrons will start jamming.

At least one of these performers is dead in a literal sense.

****, I have to remember to get a ticket for it when they come to my city on the 3rd. It'll be a ****** seat, but I'll still get to see the White Stripes.

Anyway,

I personally at this point could care less about the Royal Family of England. I do remember my parents and others making a big deal of it though when Princess Di got killed, so maybe I should care...

Is that the lineup for the Family values tour? I hadn't seen Iron Maiden or Dream Theater listed.

They do know that she is dead, right? And not on life support somewhere next to JFK's head floating in a vat of formaldehyde? The whole "Concert for Diana" thing suggests they are holding a prayer vigil or collecting pennies, nickles, and dimes in mason jars hoping to donate to her medical expenses.

As for that lineup, I'd go to hear Supertramp and maybe Andrew Lloyd Webber. Kanye and the rest? Meh. Well, maybe I'd go to see Tom Jones throw out his hip gyrating on stage for laffs.

Going to see Roger Waters tonight. He's doing Dark Side in its entirety. Should be sweet.

I've also got the Police in a couple of weeks too, center 14th row on the floor. Yay me!

ToUts

The Lloyd-Webber set is when I'll be in the bathroom selling bags of tea-leaves to teen wannabe dope smokers.

I am looking forward to:

Bryan Ferry (As long as he does some of his early Roxy Music stuff. If the rumoUrs about Brian Eno and Steve Manzanero playing are true, I'll be happy as a dog with 2 diCks)
English National Ballet (Always impeccable)
The Feeling (Geeat songs)
Nelly Furtado (Hawt)
Natasha Bedingfield (Hawt)
Roger Hodgson of Supertramp (Natcherally)
Tom Jones (He's Tom Jones)

And whichever fUckslap is excited about Roger Waters doing DSOTM- WTF?

That's like getting excited about Ringo Starr playing 'Sergeant Pepper'.

He wrote good songs, fair enough, but after Sid left, he was only ever the songwriter that composed stuff that showed us how amazing Gilmour, Wright and Mason could be.

He's done fUck-all since Floyd. And before you ask, yes, being old and wrinkly enough to have been to see Floyd in the 70s and the Wall concerts, I did make the mistake of seeing Waters live: twice - The first time I left half way thru. The 2nd time was just to get into the pants of a cute girl who thought he was cool. We both left after a few tuneless, uncharismatic, embarassing songs.

I'd rather see Emily play Smiley: oyvey

Waters, while having absolutely shitty solo material, is the closest any of us young'uns are going to get to seeing Pink Floyd in the flesh (ha!). I saw him back in September, and at least he had the good grace to (mostly) stay the fuck away from his solo stuff. He had a really good backing band, and was able to pull out most of the tricks that make a Floyd show "feel" like a Floyd show. And c'mon, whens the next time you're actually going to see someone perform Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun?

I have no plans to unless PF reform. And frankly, I'd rather see a trubute band with a Gilmour-esque lead singer than Waters. Like I said - Waters is to the Floyd what Ringo is to the Beatles.

If her timing's that inconsiderate, I suggest naming the offspring 'Download Absentee' to constantly remind her of her lack of matrimonial loyalty.
