Crappy ending imo. Was like Heroes, tons of buildup for a squished head and a droopy ending.

I'm of two minds about it. While I like resolution in my storylines as much as the next guy, I understand the ending was exactly the type Chase would shoot, complete with Shakespearean themes. It wasn't bad. Besides, you gotta love kids vomiting Cokes all over themselves from seeing their dad's head get squished, lol.

To be positive, it was a humorous episode. The bits with the cat and Pauly were great and I more or less liked how they resolved AJ. I thought they were going to wrap up the series with Tony seeing ducks come back or something, bringing him full circle. I mean his shrink cut him loose, Phil was dead, AJ was better, Meadow was doing well, he went to see Junior, him and Carmela were good. When he was outside raking leaves I swear I heard ducks and I thought that was where it was ending.

You gotta admit whether you like the ending or not, the last four minutes were masterful and captivating, from the moment he hit the jukebox. It was full of red-herrings, or some would say bullshit, like Meadow trying to park the car,the non-descript guy in the trucker hat and the gangsta-rappers by the juke box. Then, there was the "Members-Only" chooch, heading to the kamode, nice "GodFather" homage there Fredo.

But in the end you just fade to black, just like Bobby Baccala said.

Or sell the real ending on the DVD/Movie.

One of the worst series finales I've ever seen. Nice seeing Phil get whacked, but I was expecting a little more death and mayhem.

Read elsewhere:

Quote:
The guy at the bar is also credited as Nikki Leotardo. The same actor played him in the first part of season 6 during a brief sit down concerning the future of Vito. That wasn't that long ago. Apparently, he is the nephew of Phil. Phil's brother Nikki Senior was killed in 1976 in a car accident. Absolutely genius!!! David Chase is truly rewarding the true fans who pay attention to detail.

So the point would have been that life continues and we may never know the end of the Sopranos. But if you pay attention to the history, you will find that all the answers lie in the characters in the restaurant. The trucker was the brother of the guy who was robbed by Christopher in Season 2. Remember the DVD players? The trucker had to identify the body. The boy scouts were in the train store and the black guys at the end were the ones who tried to kill Tony and only clipped him in the ear (was that season 2 or 3?).

Absolutely incredible!!! There were three people in the restaurant who had reason to kill Tony and then it just ends. This was Chase's way of proving that he will not escape his past. It will not go on forever despite that he would like it to "don't stop." Not the fans!!! Tony would like it to keep going but just as we have to say goodbye, so does he. No more Tony and I guess we are supposed to be happy that Meadow didn't get clipped as well (she would have been between the shooter and Tony) since she is the only one worth a crap in that family.

Besides the above, it was mentioned to me today that in one of the early seasons Tony had a conversation with someone regarding what it would be like to get whacked. They came to the conclusion that you never hear it and then everything just goes black. So unless you saw that episode(I didn't) and remembered that conversation, the ending wouldn't mean much to you.

My husband mentioned this conversation and said that he either saw it in the "Previously on Sopranos" or during that flashback scene with Bobby. I remember the boat scene with Bobby being played during the finale, but don't recall anything about it going black all of a sudden. Mr. Pikko thinks that Tony dies because of that resurrected conversation though.

Having seen the ending, there's no way of telling either way imo. Lots of theories and a heck of a lot of heated debates, that's for sure!

Farscape, Angel. Just two that have an equally bad ending or even worse.

Who knows? Perhaps like Farscape there'll be a miniseries in a couple of years?

Agree that Farscape was pretty bad, but I wasn't as *into* it as I was Sopranos. I was disappointed, but that's pretty much what television does anyway.

Refresh my memory please. Did Farscape the series end with Crighton and Aeryn getting frozen and smashed into little pieces in a boat? Then it got canceled after that right? I don't even really remember the Peacekeeper Wars except that Aeryn gave birth.

Yeah, the mini-series were basically the fifth season crammed into an hour or four. It showed unfortunately as some events were very rushed. But it is still a thousand times better than just the ending of season 4.

Only if you're a ******* idiot. If you aren't you realize Chase has been out of ideas for years and took the easy way out while laughing at you from his private island.
