Canadian Hockey is a JokeFollow

Yep. It looks like the NHL is serious about helping a Canadian team win the Stanley Cup. It's a good thing they fine people for criticizing their officiating. If that wasn't the case there'd be more to report than most newspapers can devote space to.

The officiating tonite is almost as bad as it was last night. Of course, there are still 2 periods left to play...

Score? It is amusing that Pronger crushed Dean McAmmond. What is he like 5-10?
#3 Jun 04 2007 at 5:27 PM Rating: Good
Opening of the second, 1-0 Ottawa on a PP goal with 0:00.3 seconds left in the first period. The Power Play was on a play where Getzlaf crashed the net, touched Emery's glove, and Emery flopped on his back, arms flailing, in the most blatant dive since Greg Lugainis won a gold medal. Getzlaf gets the penalty and the Canadian team gets one more leg up from a league official.

I hate Emery. He's a solid goalie but he's not "great." But if they're calling chippy penalties like that it's going to be an extremely long game.

Sick glove save. But it's gonna take a lot more than that for the Sens to come back in this series.

Ducks in 5.
#6 Jun 04 2007 at 7:04 PM Rating: Good
Like the title says. Even with the league and the refs solidly doing everything they can to tilt the table, Ottawa can't pull this one off. Its a joke, and no one North of the border should be smiling. 3-2 Ducks.

Anaheim is without a doubt the better team. The cowardly move by Alfredsson is ten times worse than anything Pronger did but because no one was injured it was entirely overlooked.

I am absolutely tired of Canadian hockey (not the ladies national team though, they are amazing). Almost as bad as the last olympics.

Meh, there's more Canadian players on Anaheim then Ottawa anyway. It's just too damn bad that Pronger is going to win the cup.

Did you ever doubt it?

Btw Mo did i tell you i am now a full member of the "Hockey is freakin awesome" club?

Blame the Norfolk Admirals... and some insane guy who managed to shout "Hey DuPont!! You Suck!!" for nearly 2 and a half hours non stop, (even during the intervals when said DuPont was probably in the locker room) it was impressive.

All i need now is a channel that shows it in England.

I couldn't agree more Moe. I feel your pain about the Ducks getting shafted. My home team happens to be the Tampa Bay Lightning and Toronto, and most diehard Canadian hockey fans for that matter, hates all things completely opposite of stereotypical hockey. Oh well. Canada hasn't won a cup in a long, long time.

Ottawa should win for one simple reason:

Anywhere that doesn't get regular snowfall in the winter, should NOT have a ******* hockey team.

i guess u never noticed that most of the ducks team is made up of canadians. why wouldthe league be tryig to get a cup in canada? theres no logic to what you're saying when there has yet to be a cup in Cali with 2 expansions teams there, they league would rather have the cup in ccali anyday. **** they would rather have 2 american teams playing for it then 2 canadian teams.

use your head. its obvious you know nothing of hockey or the NHL.

I really have no feelings on Anaheim. But since I live in Pittsburgh and I breathe Penguins hockey, I hate Ottawa. If for no other reason than they beat the Pens Smiley: lol

I just can't believe a Canadian hockey team is being beat by one named after a Disney movie, for fUck's sake.

what do you expect from a ducks fan?

i bet 99 percent of anaheim's population has no clue that there is hockey being played in their backyard.

ducks are known for playing thuggish hockey, so expect calls to go against them

Jesus-black-eyed-Christ in a soaking tub. 5 posts in 3 months and I get some jerk off to build a puppet just for me. Its either that bad around here, or I'm just that good. Deimoslive, you're a f'ucking idiot. That would be bad enough, but you're also a coward. Nice work on being born with less balls than Barney Fife.

And I am not a duck's fan. I hate the bob damned ducks. They knocked my team out of the playoffs. They are, however, a damn fine hockey team. As for "thuggish" hockey, go play chess if getting hit bothers you. They finish checks, they crash the net, and occasionally they get lucky enough to find some jack off on the ice not paying attention and lift him off his skates with an elbow. Here's a tip: you don't want to take an elbow to the head, don't duck in to the elbow. The Senators have played far dirtier this series than Anaheim has. The refereeing, however, has been grossly lacking and terribly one-sided.

I'm smiling, but that's because Ottawa's getting its *** kicked. The Stanley Cup will see more Canadian cities if Anahiem wins, since more of them are Canadian. That, and Gigger played junior hockey out here in the east.

Even the announcers on the CBC are picking up on the penalties, it is ludicrous. Even with the heavy handed officiating on ottawas side they are still getting wtfpwned by the Might f'uckin ducks.

Is 2-0 insurmountable with Giguere in net? One has to think it is damn near that, regardless of how **** poor the refs are.

Now the question will be will the Senators actually try and complain about the officiating? Dear God I hope so. That will be the collective nail in the coffin of Canadian hockey Smiley: lol

I turned the game off after Ottowa put the puck into its own net. All in all a disappointing series.

Ottawa does not constitute all of Canada, unless you want the Nationals, Redskins, Capitals or Wizards being ambassadors for all of the US?

As said before, Anahiem represents Canada better than Ottawa does. More players are Canadian and the guy building the team is too. Canadian hockey is played in Anahiem, Ottawa plays that pansy *** European crap.

Giguere, bring the cup to Hali. With Anahiem winning, the cup will see Cali and Hali, west and east coast.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Ottawa is the antithesis of Canadian hockey actually.

And compare the fans in Ottawa to the other Candian teams that were in the finals over the past two years. Remember last year when Edmonton was in the finals? Their home was rocking. Remember the Saddledome 2 years before? That place was vicious. Ottawa fans, on the other hand, look like they would be having more fun watching paint dry. They have no personality at all.

Ottawa had a good team, as they have had every year. They choked, as they have every year. Don't get me wrong: Anaheim was good, but Ottawa lost their identity when the finals started. It was a completely different team.

Gratz to the Ducks. They deserved it.
