yep, the pilots union votes to raise the age of forced retirement for pilots to 65 from 60. they said it will allow the "walls to come tumbling down" in their tireless effort to fight age descrimination.

its gona make something come tumbling down. mabe even some walls.

in my job, the forced retirement age is 56. alot of the old timers dont like it. but alot of research went in to comming up with that age. studies concerning motor skills, hearing and eye sight degeration, and mental alertness.

of the two people who recently retired, one walked out perfectly fine. could probably have gone a few more years without an issue. one threw himself on the floor and had a tantrum because of the difficulty of dealing with port-au-price center. (they are not the sharpest knif in the drawer, but cant expect much from a country that has a new leader from day to day and you dont know if your gona get paid week from week.)

little things that happen from day to day started grating on his nerves, he became irratable, short tempered, and had more difficulty dealing with moderate or grater traffic.

it was PAST time for him to go.

the delima. people mentally degernate at differant rates, but all of them eventually do soon or later. do we set a date and force everyone out at that point, or do we spend millions of dollars to increase monitoring and tsting of people when they do get to that age to support their right to work till THEY are ready to go?

the FAA opted to force them all out rahter than roll the dice with public safety, or spend millions tyring to monitor them when they get to that majic age.

the for profit air line agency is now leaning the other way. who is going to spend the money to monitor their performance? or do they just intend to sit back and wait till they start making mistakes? how is going to monitor them to make sure they are ok? the federal government? or the for profit company allowing the change? or the pilots union?

who is going to protect YOU from a gieser in the cockpit who forgets to push a button or forgets to set the flaps when he pulls the throttles back to land?

what is the addministraitor of the FAA doing? the one with absolutly no experience in the airline industry? is she raising this question to the federal government? nope. just gona wait and see what falls out....or down.......

the moral majority working HARD for you........

Geysers in the cockpit? Like Old Faithful?
That doesn't make sense. Unless stewardesses are being encouraged to jack off the pilots to keep them relaxed?

What would you do with all the steam???

But seriously, older pilots is a bad idea. You think old drivers are bad on the road? wait until your 3 hour flight turns into a 4 day flight because they won't push the jet past 120mph, and they keep weaving all over the sky

You have issues my friend. I'm still floored that Shadow actually posted a real, honest to goodness thread that makes sense.

Seriously though, why would you think "geezers" is spelled the same as "geisers"? Which is actually spelled geysers, anyways.

Boggles the mind.

Well if you ignore the fact that he mistook geysers for geezers, it does kind of make sense. What really terrifies me is that someone lets Shadow pilot a plane.

Do you have any idea what that phrase even means? Because apparently you have decided that the unions are the moral majority.

Does this mean that the entire airforce will be flying around with their right blinker on for miles?
