Too soon for spoilers, so here are some thoughts.

1- Johnny Depp is awesome.
2- Kiera Knightly (sp?) is a *****. Seriously, who doesn't she make out with in these flicks...
3- Jeffrey Rush is the only living actor who can pull of an Authentic "Aargggg". Everyone else who tries sounds silly.

I thought it was pretty good. Pretty long, but good. Most of the ladies I know who saw it hate the ending, (someone psuedo-dies), but given I have no love for the charachter, I couldn't care less that they psuedo-died. B+

I miss the days when I was the first person to see and post about all the hot movies. Now I am lucky if I've heard of them 6 months after they're hot.

Decent movie. The wife and I didn't care overmuch for the ending though.

About the only other thing I may see opening weekend over the summer will be Hairy Potter.

Not cause I care to see it, mind you, but because the current lady in my life simply has to be there opening night.

It's nice to date someone almost equally as geeky for me as once. I made her sit through Spidey 3 at midnight, I figure can sit through Harry Fracking Potter.

(and by "sit through" I mean get so stoned beforehand I'll be unable to get up and run out)

I have already informed the husband that we are attending Harry Potter, no debating.

I've enjoyed all the Harry Potter movies to date, and just recently read all the books as well, so that's on the list. Pirates also, probably.

I've even been having dreams about Harry Potter.

I was a bit sceptical about going on opening night but we went immediately after work and walked right in. The theater was still only half full when the movie started. When we were walking out at around eight, they were setting up ropes to form a line for the nine o'clock show and people were already pushing to get into that line.

You can nitpick about the length but hard to deny that it was an epic. Visuals were lush and you could actually follow the action rather than the frenetic sequences that pass as action in newer movies in which it's hard to follow what is actually happening. The last hour was the reason I go to movies. Loved the closure with the various characters, in particular with Depp.

I saw it a couple hours ago. Dang, I love Pirates even more then I did before. I like the new one the most. Yet I rarely see movies and have only seen each one once, except the first one, I saw it twice. So for some reason the recent one I see is always my favorite.

Insert eye rolling smilie here. Im no premium. :(

Great movie, but the ending sucked.

Stay for the credits, by the way. You don't want to miss out on the last scene. Or maybe you do. Depends, I guess.

Yarr! 'twas a fine movie me lads.

Over the top dialogue, contrived plot, outrageously hammy acting. Exactly what I hoped for. Apart from Johnny Depp, the whole cast were really good (even Keef, maaan).

I say apart from Depp 'cause once again he was outstanding. They could just have disjointedly edited his scenes together and I'd still have paid to watch.

Went to the matinee yesterday and I have to say I was very pleased with the film.

Question w/Spoiler (highlight to read):
If Elizabeth and Will were so in love, why didn't Elizabeth just become a crew member of the Flying Dutchman at the end? They could have been together for eternity right? Isn't it just that, "Do you fear death?" question and then if you agree to be part of the crew it's binding? Would have been a better ending if that'd happened...but I'm a happy ending kinda guy.

Will, Elizabeth, Jack, Barbosa, Tibbs, Caliope (was that her name?) and Jones were all played very well. Norrington and the EITC dude were decently done also.

I'd give it an A-.

I can't wait to see this movie. I've been waiting since I saw part 2. Although I've been told some of the beginning may not be suitable for kids, so I'll have to see it first before letting my kids see it.

Roller,

Davy Jones's duty was to ferry those who died at sea to the other side. I would assume that Elizabeth would have to die at sea for Will to add her to the crew.

I loved this movie. The funny moments alone made it worth seeing. That "who has the longer scope" gag between Jack and Barbossa had everyone in the theater cracking up.

Admin edit: you suck at hideing spoiler things

Tasera: Would that really be very hard to make happen? I mean...you could be together forever with the love of your life...AND Elizabeth would still get to "swash-buckle" and whatnot.

I don't remember the opening scene having anything too adult or graphic. No nudity, no sex, no cussing...it IS a Disney Movie and the previews they show before Pirates are almost all kid movies except The Bourne Ultimatum.

Roller: I think the disturbing part people are referring to is the mass hangings, especially of the child.

I lost interest after about the 13th deal + double-crossing.

I'd still rate it a better than average action movie, but clearly worse than the first two.

Just saw it, now I have to go to bed to go to work in under 5 hours. Not sure if it was worth that though, but it is definitely worth seeing in a theater. It'll never ever be as good on a small tv screen, no matter how big. (save projection screens most likely)

Wanted to see it yesterday, but all four screenings were sold out and again the late night screenings. So tried again today, again all screenings sold out at 8pm, but luckily the late screening had an opening. Never seen that much people for a movie before, not even Spiderman.

Mazra is right btw, best to wait till after the credits have passed, takes a while though. Of the full room, only about 8 people stayed, I wouldn't have if I hadn't read it here first! (so thanks for that Mazra!)

Is it better than the previous two? Not imo, but it was a decent end to the trilogy, that I'll admit.

Would anyone mind taking the time to PM me the details on what happened after the credits rolled?

Thanks in advance.

I'll give a slightly different answer to this:

Because then the "ending" after the credits could not have happened. Both of them being dead as it were. This is a Disney movie afterall...
