After putting up with a doofus billionaire owner and being sold to some Okie dirt farmer, Seattle finally caught a break. Yesterday Seattle nabbed the #2 lottery pick in the NBA, thus virtually assuring them of a ball handling gunner named Kevein Durant.
Wow. Just... wow.
Mr. Dirt Farmer wanted to move the team to BFE, Okla****, but this stroke of luck is likely to force David Stern's hand and commanding that the Sonics remain in Seattle, precisely where they belong.

I hadn't watched a basketball game in it's entirety since Jordan retired until this post-season, when I watched all of the Warriors' games. ****, I'm a fan now, more of the crowd than the team, but still.
Also, a conspiracy theorist would say the lottery was rigged. Portland and Seattle were both looking to relocate, and now they beat the odds and are pretty much guaranteed a franchise changing player. I don't see either team moving, now. Memphis, on the other hand.

I am a Seattle sports fan and don't participate in sports bigamy. Had the Sonics move to BFE I'd be the equivilent of an embittered divorcee raging against her philandering husband who decided to trade up to a younger model. I was prepared to sacrifice chickens and black cats at midnight in Satanic rituals to see the Okie Catfish Noodlers nee Sonics suck each and every year, but not bad enough to earn them a decent lottery pick. I would hate them with a passion and intensity seen only in former spouses of Donald Trump.
That being said, the Warriors were fantastically entertaining in the playoffs this year, but I still couldn't be considered a fan. Besides that, I hate Barry Bonds, so, no, I am not a Bay area sports fan.
