... if this is true, then he pulled quite a stunt, even if it doesn't make him any less of a dork.

TMZ received a hilarious video of Sanjaya explaining that his "real" name is Bill Vendall, and that he is an art student at the Rhode Island School of Design. He "created" Sanjaya as part of his thesis, explaining, "The character was part of a larger art installation."

As an avid viewer of the best singing competition in the history of televised talent shows, I have long suspected that Sanjaya was in pulling my leg. I knew he was way smarter than he was letting on.

In no way does this farce devalue the process, because he was voted out with six competitors remaining.

Also, I offer a preemptive fUck you, it's just as dorky as Heroes or Lost.

American Idol jumped the shark the moment it focused on freaks and weirdos intent on getting their 15 minutes of fame. Here's to hoping Jackson, Abdul, and Cowell die in a fiery car wreck.

Well, at least Paula broke her nose when trying to avoid tripping over her dog...it's not quite as good, but it's something.

Every year the show hooks me the same way: I love seeing people humiliated. So I watch the first few episodes and I laugh at the delusional people. Sooner or later I'm actually impressed by one or two of the contestants and I continue to watch. Then when it's all over, I marvel at how cheap celebrity really is, and how easily it can be manufactured and gobbled down by my fellow countrymen.

I just check the internet to see who's staying and who's gone. I prefer Dancing With the Stars.

I'm with you. I never watched DWTS until this season, when I had to see one-legged Heather Mills try and dance. I got hooked on it and was rooting Apolo/Julianne all the way!

I desperately wanted to see Mills do some fancy move on the dance floor only to see her prothetic leg fly off and clock someone in the dome. I'd pay to see that.

Specifically the reason I *don't* watch these stupid shows. I'm too much a softie to get kicks from watching idiots like William Hung make a fool of himself on national TV - and yet still become a big-name pop star.

Even being the movie geek that I am, I can't really get into shows like Project Greenlight, or On the Lot.

As part of the Divorce settlement, Sir Paul gave her a plane.

And a Ladyshave for the other leg
