I think that's the somewhat obvious conclusion given that prices are higher in adjusted dollars today then they were back when we were in the middle of an oil crisis (with the aforementioned cars streched around the block and people only able to get gas on alternate days and whatnot). Given that there is *not* actually any oil crisis right now nor any shortages that any of us actually feel, it's a good bet that gas has just gotten more expensive.
So yeah. Peak Oil.
