My mother is a sped teacher and her division, Project Support, is holding an auction gathering tonight in order to gather money for a new playground. The head of the PTO is helping to put this together, and being the sister of Robert and Nathan Corddry from the Daily Show, she was able to get them to come host free of charge. They've also accrued some pretty decent things to auction off: a signed football from Doug Flutie, a signed poster from the past few winners of American Idol, for example.

I've been invited to attend and would looove to see these guys in person. I love the Daily Show and these guys crack me up. I also think this is a really good cause. Tickets are $25 but I can get in for $10, although Id still pay the full price seeing as the playground the kids have is probably older than I am. Also some of the money will go into the classrooms for children with PDD.

However, I went out last night late with my mom to celebrate Mothers Day, I've been working my *** off at home trying to get the place in shape for market, and frankly, I'm fucking exhausted. My lil guy is still not sleeping through the night so that factors in.

If you were in my shoes, would you go? I have until this evening to decide.

Take a nap now, then go later.

Smiley: dubious

Based on that alone, I'd be staying home.

If you feel that strongly about it, why not buy the ticket to get into the door and just not go?

It's what I'd probably do in your case.

Yeah, they're decent in that many people will want to buy them, but not up my alley. If I went, it would be more to see the Corddry brothers perform in person. As for taking a nap, Eld? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA you make me laugh. There is no way in hell I could get my older son to stay somewhere quietly for an hour while I pass out.

No way, dude. I thought the exact same thing. As for the 4-year-old, park him in front of your computer and pass out on the couch behind him. Also, threaten him with bodily harm if he doesn't shaddap.

Not that I advocate letting your kid play on a computer for hours on end. That's a grown-up thing.

You should have him farm gold.

You can tell him that young Korean boys would kill to get out of the tailoring business and into the gold farming business, so he should feel pretty lucky that you're letting him do it and even without any formal training.

bookmarked, thank you. Usually the older one likes PBS kids or hotwheels. But I just sent him outside to get rid of some excess energy.

If you stay there will be trouble,
If you go there will be double...

Hmm, I'd still go.

I'm going to teach Hannah to fake seizures so I always have an out should I be at an event and want to leave.

Of course, this could be problematic should she suddenly develop epilepsy.

Club Penguin is all the rage at Casa Jophiel. I have Joph Jr.'s account set so he can only speak/read canned text from the dialogue menus and he loves playing Connect 4 and sled racing against other kids* as well as the solo games.

*Or grown ups who like to beat eight year olds at Connect 4, I guess. But as long as their communication is restricted to "Want to play a game?", "That was fun!" and "Howdy, partner!" I suppose it's a moot point.

You're a fan of the Gordon's?

Their vodka is my group of friend's old standby drink dating back to college days. Could be the fact that the label brags it's the "smoothest" when it fact it tastes like rubbing alchohol. Or the fact that it's the 3rd cheapest you can buy, after Wolfschmidt and Skol.

More like it was the first decent gin bottle image to come up in Google without being called Ginbottle.jpg or something obvious like that.

Back in my college days, we used to drink McCormick's vodka. It came in a half-gallon plastic jug for about seven bucks.

Yes, back in my high-school days I ruined myself on most vodka by consuming those jugs of McCormick daily for two weeks straight. I always thought it tasted like raw hamburger and pine needles. Ever since then I can basically only handle vodka if it's in a bloody mary.

Did you know they also make a whiskey?
