I mean the movie had a dance sequence, it was more painful than Michael J. Fox lip synching in back to the future.

But was it as sad as watching him twitch and shake through two episodes of Scrubs?

A parkinson riddled Teenwolf is more entertaining than Spiderman 3, fact.

I thought it was all right. Didn't match up to the previous two but not a horrible flick.

Three bad guys kind of put it all over the place, though. And, yeah, I could have lived without the dance bit.

The three bad guys did have the story all over the place. Also left each story line feeling weak and underdeveloped. Sandman was the best of them but even that one was weak. Harry Osborn's butler, and his part in the movie was so horrible it was laughable. As for Venom, what little screen time he had was weak and left me feeling nothing.

The actions scenes were too quickly cut and didn't lend themselves to much tension. The whole 'catching someone/something while they are dropping' seems to be the only tension they can build and it was used at at least 3 seperate times in this movie alone. That and someone had a hard on for snow/skateboarding since both the Green Goblin Jr and Spiderman do it at numerous points in the movie.

The whole love story part of it was forced and other than a great scene with Osborn eating pie it was entirely unnecessary. Then there was Peter Parker gone 'bad', and by bad I mean doing a John Travolta strut down a new york street and ending it off with a dance. The dance was an abomination and if I only had that part of the movie to make my argument 'this movie sucks' I would have more than enough ammo to prove my point.

The few parts that were truly enjoyable were the side stories from past movies. The Daily Bugle and its staff, Aunt May (but not the ludicrous story of the sandman being the 'real killer', the Russian landlord and his cute daughter etc.

Was overall just a terrbily weak movie compared to the other two, at best it was mildly entertaining, at worst it was almost bad enough to make you want to leave the theatre.

the action was awsome. top notch. sandman rocked.

spent way way too much time listening to MJs pity party, whinning and crying. way way too much time on the dance thing. omg, what were they thinking?

75 percent of the movie revolved around MJ and her issues. they should have killed her off in the opening 10 minutes and focused on teh action for the rest of the movie, thats what we came to see.

but they didnt.

and the 25 percent of the movie that was action ROCKED. just flat out ROCKED.

worth the money to see. i left feeling glad i did. something that i didnt feel leaving daredevil, electra, hulk, ultra violet.

I'm not a huge Spidey fan, or even a movie buff for that matter, but I got brought to the midnight showing on Thursday night (the little woman is a big comic book fan). I hadn't seen the second movie yet and couldn't really remember the first so I didn't really have anything to compare it against. Overall though I can see how a child might like the movie. Stuff blew up and there was a lot of people getting their asses kicked, but I do agree that parts of it were a bit repetitive. Really, how many times did that dude on the glider thingy have to smack his face on something to get knocked off? And like Bhodi said, the whole falling/catching thing was a bit over played. It was like playing that Marvel heroes fighting game, ala Street Fighter, and playing against someone that uses the same combos over and over again.

Lame.

But other than that, the movie was OK. The best part was when that tramp MJ kissed that other guy and the entire theater let out a collective muttering of ****, *****, or ***** simultaneously.

I watched Spider Man 2 on Saturday night with a group of friends and Spider Man 3 on Sunday afternoon. I have to say Spider Man 3 was better than Spider Man 2. Parts of two had me waxing MST 3000 at the TV with others joining in. Especially the scene where the octo guy drops half a restaurant on spidey's head, then he emerges with this glasses on and they are un broken. I quipped that those are some amazing glasses - 3 seconds later he takes off the glasses and drops them to the ground and they break. We were all ROFL.

Over all, I would rate "Spider Man 3" at 3 out of 5 stars, with "Spider Man 2" at about 2 stars. I did think the whole runaway train scene was streching it, he is psider man not superman, but maybe that was also due in part to me knowing that there are no 7 story high elevated train tracks in Manhattan like those pictured in that scene.

It is probably worth the money to go see it in the threatre especially with a group of friends, it does have alot of action.

Smiley: laugh My theater has that "gasp ****!" reaction, too.

Since I guess this would be a spoiler:

There was this deft silence when Peter hits/pushes MJ at the club and she lands all shocked looked on the floor. You could've heard a pin drop.

Smiley: laugh I remember the same thing happened in The Department when Leo DiCaprio's character slept with the fiance of Matt Damon's character. That just cracked me up. At the end of the movie, when Leo's shot in the head, some guy shouted "You deserve it you ******* for sleeping with her!"

Well, good or bad, it's obvious that people are seeing it:
Quote:
LOS ANGELES -- Spider-Man caught just about everyone in his web. The superhero's latest adventure, "Spider-Man 3," smashed box-office records with $148 million in its first three days, according to studio estimates Sunday.

That put it ahead of the previous record debut of $135.6 million set last summer by "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest."

With $59.3 million on opening day Friday, Sony's "Spider-Man 3" broke the single-day box-office record, also held by "Dead Man's Chest" with $55.8 million in its first day.
With foreign receipts, its total take so far is $375 million. So at least they made back the cost of all that CGI.

Edit: even as I wrote that, it occurs to me that box office receipts aren't all cash in the studios hand for obvious reasons. Still, I don't see it being any sort of a loss.

I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't go see Spider-Man 4. Hell, it's just like the comic now! Good character gets caught up in sappy melodrama. Comics are like soaps, and this one, even in a slump, is still quite watchable.

The one part that did make me cringe was the breakup scene. WTF, Peter?!! Are you fourteen?

There's no accounting for the publics taste.

I think the last movie I actually watched at the theatre was the 3rd star wars. It was well worth it to watch that winey brat anakin get dismembered by ob1.

I do plan on watching the 28weeks later movie; zombie movies ftw.

I haven't seen Spiderman 3 yet...but I really hope that if they make a Spiderman 4, it's just different people taking turns punching Mary Jane in the face.

Funny, 'cause everyone in our theater clapped. Smiley: oyvey

They also clapped when
it looked like Spidey killed Harry with the explosion.
I was quite disappointed in them.

It's probably because in Miami, it's ALL about Spanish soap operas. This was a soap with webbing. Smiley: laugh

A friend of mine called me during the movie (no, I didn't pick it up and my phone was on vibrate, I'm not one of those people) and I was tempted to pick up and say "I'm watchin mah stories."
