sorry to hear that, Smoggy. It sucks when things like this happen, but Im happy for you that you tried everything you could, and that you are also ending amicably. It's very rare for that to happen. Best of luck and may you find happiness in a partner one day. Or get shagged more often than Kakar by dangling three women in the palm of your hand

Coincidentally, about the same time the lawyers show up.

Odd, that.

snot,

Let me guess irreconcilable differences. In a society where women pretend to be men and vice-versa is there any wonder why so many can't understand what it means to bind themselves to someone forever? Isn't it so much easier to be rid of the source of that discomfort? I mean aren't rules made to be broken? There are exceptions to every rule so i'm told. And we all know not everythings black and white.

Or, in Aegis's case, the Petting Zoo.

I disagree. My ex-husband and I have a very amicable relationship. We babysit the baby when the other has a date, I give him a ride to work every morning, and we talk each night on the phone about how the baby's day went. I realize that we have a child, and need to take that into consideration, but MANY people who have children are just miserable to each other. Anyway, I think that two responsible adults who agree to act as adults and treat each other with respect are certainly capable of a smooth transition to ex-dom.

Yeah, the lawyers cause all sorts of dissension. That's how they make their money. If you can finalize things with just a mediator...do so.

Anyway, bummer about the split.

Hope everything works out for the best for you both.

I'm going to hold Nexa's situation up as an example of two adults clearly seperating their emotions from the matter at hand and therefore capable of having guilt-free unattached sex. I knew I wasn't the only one!

However, as the silver lining, maybe this will free up your schedule enough for a Chicago trip in August!

Agreed, and maybe you'll hook up with someone from the board (if there are any single females going?) All the cool kids are doing it.

I call Nexa!

Dump the loser before August, mkay?

haha, even if I did, I'd never date a younger man again!

Oh I'm sure there were angry feelings at one time, maybe not just now because they've both moved on. It's different when you have a kid-you kind of have to make it work. If you don't have a kid, though, I think it's healthiest to make a clean break and not try to feign friendship before you're ready, if ever.

Pardon? Thinking of unattached sex with my ex-husband as gross makes Hannah the new Messiah? I'd hope we'd have a lot of messiahs, were that the only requirement.

Sorry to hear that Snorre. When the split is final, head down to San Diego. Mr. Thumb and I will be happy to have you for a weekend for you to get lit and partake in some drunkey debauchery.

I'd take her up on that, she's already said she's a swinger.

Actually, Nexa has it right - we're handling it all on our own. No need for lawyers.

Good. Now, estimate what you would have spent on a lawyer, and there you'll have your buying-Nexa-drinks-in-Chicago budget all set aside!

Don't say I'm not helpful...I'm full of useful tips! or sumthin
