The US economy grew at its weakest pace for four years during the first quarter of 2007, figures from the US Commerce Department show.

The news pushed the dollar to record lows of $1.3667 against the euro.

Don't worry though, those tax cuts will kick in *any minute* now.

This'll recover before the honeymoon to Italy, right?

Otherwise, we're going to a domestic place I heard of called Love Canal. Sounds romantic and a bed & breakfast there is suprisingly affordable.

Weak dollar means more tourism in NYC, and that means more jobs annd more hotel construction/renovation which should trickle down to higher salaries for anyone associated with the construction bussines around NYC.

Stimulating bad loaning is good to boost the economy on the short term but awful when "payback day" comes.

There was a colective "you see!" in the old country when the ResMae Mortgage Corp went belly up.

Maybe it'll make the flight to Chitown more reasonable.

As for the thread title, don't forget this maxim:

Q: What's the only way to get a drink out of an Englishman?
A: Put your finger down the back of his throat
