Marky Mark and The Funky Bunch - Good Vibrations.

Joph's post triggered a memory of Stacey Q's "2 of Hearts" and I really want to listen to that now.

I hate you. I didn't even click on it and it doesn't matter.

I really hate you.

I have been listening to Jimmy Buffet's "Volcano" on auto repeat whenever there is a lull in decent music on the radio during the drive to and from work. Here is a you tube video with it as a soundtrack.

Also, sometimes, Daft Punk.

I have to admit though, I'm not really ashamed. I probably should be, but I'm not.

Now that I've been reminded of the existence of Carnie Wilson, I remember how much I love some Wilson Phillips tunes.

I mentioned this in another music thread;

I listen to what I want, when I want. Everyone else's opinions and ideas be damned.

I never understood people who are embarassed about listening or liking a song or artist. It's not like you're jacking off the neighbor's dog in front of the kids. As I grew up I'd watch kids listen to and enjoy a certain song. The next day one of the 'cool' kids would ask if them if they liked that 'stupid' song. They'd say no and deny it completely and say how stupid the song was. All this just to be cool.

If I enjoy something I'm not going to deny it, I embrace it. I like what I like and I hate what I hate. Nobody else's opinion will ever change my mind.

I thought of it as more "what I keep for myself" and less "what I'm ashamed of."

Though if you saw me bust out the scotch and sunglasses for Scott Walker, you'd be ashamed to be near me...

Warcraft Fiction -- Parts 1 through 15 Last update: Friday, April 6th, 2007

I started admiring your dedication to writing, but after the first 30 seconds of reading or so, I was mainly just praying for death.

I've been burning all of my CD's to my hard drive for the last week or so, and today I found that I have a Melissa Etheridge CD. No idea where it came from.

As for the original question, I'd have to say my collection of 80's tunes. Stuff like Talking Heads, Sique Sique Sputnik, Oingo Boingo, etc. Not that I'm necessarily ashamed of it, but I don't really advertise it either.

Looking over my collection, I see Killing Me Softly by Al B. Sure, some Beastie Boys (Paul Revere, w00t), Heavy D, Too Shy by Kajagoogoo (wtf is up with that name??), some Lindsay Lohan (yes, really), Sheila E. and Zapp & Roger.

I r teh child of the 80's.

Lindsay Lohan sang in the 80's? Isn't she like, 17 or something?

No, she's like, the only recent guilty artist pleasure I have. Most of my stuff is 80's, and bad 80's at that.

Vanity 6, anyone? "Singles? Is that what you think? Tramp, I'm dating your dad!"

I love it.

I just love me some Bard Rock.

Especially when I'm logged into WoW, it's a hell of a lot better than most of the music found in mmorpg's, which have always seemed like an after-thought in most cases.
