I'm not ashamed to say I was into Menudo or NKOTB back in my day. They were awesomecool, and I was a chick that knew what was hip. I often like to re-visit that music with no real shame in my game (Whatup, TooShort!) because, let's face it, I have an hour-and-a-half commute each way and I gotta get my car-dance on. I'll usually roll my windshield down and allow folks to share in the jammability of my Bell Biv Devoe, LL Cool J, hell, even my Criss Cross. Those who want to talk smack can suck it, 'cause it's hard to hear when you're trying to shift and do the roger rabbit all at once.
However yesterday, during my weekly trip to Portillo's with Jr. in the back, I put on what he calls "The Happy Song." It came up once upon a time on some remix and I downloaded it not even remembering who the artist was. Afterwards, Jr. heard it on the shuffle, and, pausing between telling me places where the cat could store his grenade, asked me to turn it up and what was it called. I realized, after I told him and as he sung along with the mad catchy piano, that I was ashamed to tell him we were boucing around to Color Me Badd's All For Love.
That might have to be our song during the wedding. Jr.'s quite the dancer.
Any music you're dead ashamed of but secretly glory in? I'm a ***** for a good beat, so there's quite a few songs out there, but this is by far my most shameful.
