Dear MoveOn member,

The votes are in, and Barack Obama is MoveOn members' top choice to lead the country out of Iraq, with John Edwards a close second (see results below).

Now, here are the full results from the Virtual Town Hall vote (remember, this does not imply a MoveOn endorsement):

Sen. Barack Obama 28% [ http://www.barackobama.com/ ]www.BarackObama.com
Sen. John Edwards 25% [ http://www.johnedwards.com/ ]www.JohnEdwards.com
Rep. Dennis Kucinich 17% [ http://www.kucinich.us/ ]www.Kucinich.us
Gov. Bill Richardson 12% [ http://www.richardsonforpresident.com/ ]www.RichardsonForPresident.com
Sen. Hillary Clinton 11% [ http://www.hillaryclinton.com/ ]www.HillaryClinton.com
Sen. Joe Biden 6% [ http://www.joebiden.com/ ]www.JoeBiden.com
Sen. Chris Dodd 1% [ http://www.chrisdodd.com/ ]www.ChrisDodd.com

The crazy liberals really love the black guy WAY more than the woman. Cancer booby husband is a close second though.

He's gaining momentum. Also money. That's two mos. If he can pick up a Larry and a Shemp, he's unbeatable.

Obama may be the "top choice to lead us out of Iraq" according to that poll but, according to every other poll, Clinton still commands a healthy lead for Democratic nomination.

We have a long while to go and I hope to God she doesn't get it but that's how the numbers shake out right now.

Within the margin of error isn't exactly a 'healthy lead'.

10-12% is a pretty large margin of error. Particularly for polls which claim a +/- 4% Margin Smiley: dubious

Obama is charsimatic, Hillary's got the golden boy at her side, but for my thinking, neither is viable at this time. Edwards has a plan laid out, and is hunky to boot. I'm with him.

Boy it sure was in polls taken 6 months ago, I guess.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/Political%20Tracking/Democratic%20Primaries/DemocraticPresidentialPrimary.htm

Rasmussen, 5 points.

http://www.zogby.com/news/ReadNews.dbm?ID=1277

Zogby, 6 points.

In fact, the only poll that shows anything approaching the kind of spread you cite is the laughably useless Gallup polling that doesn't target primary voters, etc.

It was quoted in the Chicago Tribune, though, so lets not bother to do any actual research.

I'd feel pretty zinged if I hadn't linked to a different source.

You realize that neither Zogby nor Rasmussen have him in the MOE either. Smash said it though so let's not bother to do any actual research! Smiley: laugh

True, I misspoke, he's a good 3 or 4 points outside of it, time to pack it in probably.

Actually, I just added the link to avoid being asked for a source. Nearly ten minutes before your reply.

If you're looking for a retarded debate this morning, could we have it on something else?

My point was merely that a single-issue poll isn't all that exciting. I'd rather see Obama in office than Clinton but that doesn't mean he's magically leading.

His fundraising was good news though Smiley: smile

In relative terms, although, under those same standards, Hilary is a close second.

I thought the same thing, but then I assumed it was my comprehension, being a woman and all.

I've grown beyond using the verb to be.

Soon, I hope to be able to just post in cunning pictographs.
