I hate to have 2 posts in a row about death, however...

Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Quote:
NEW YORK -- Kurt Vonnegut, whose dark comic talent and urgent moral vision in novels such as "Slaughterhouse-Five," "Cat's Cradle" and "God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater" caught the temper of his times and the imagination of a generation, died Wednesday night in New York. He was 84 and had homes in Manhattan and in Sagaponack on Long Island

And so on.

May you find the "blue tunnel to the pearly white gates of the afterlife", Sir.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kurt Vonnegut a few years ago. There was no artifice to the man, he was completely genuine.

Either that or he had me completely fooled.

Regardless, I wish him well. Besides being a great writer he was a very cool guy - something that most people lose when they gain any measure of celebrity.

They showed The Recruit on Tuesday, which has a plot centered around a computer virus called Ice-9. Coincidence?
