Disney opens up wedding services to gay couples

That's a surprising move for Disney, honestly. I'm quite pleased. Now, I wouldn't in a million years spend that kind of money to have a wedding, but to each their own!

Why would you confuse the kids with two Mickeys? Maybe a Mickey & Donald or Goofy & Pluto, but I don't get why two Mickeys.

You think two male mice would be more confusing than inter-species breeding?

What's next, allowing employees to have facial hair? The world's going to hell in a handbasket.

This sort of begs the question of what straight couples were getting married in possibly the gayest place on Earth.

Two male mice with the exact same name, looks, voice, likes and dislikes, history background. Yeah I do. Now if you're talking about Steamboat Willy and the modern Mickey it might be a little different.

Well, I'm not sure with mice. Anyway, it's not like they couldn't where different outfits! White tux and black tux or something.

White tux or black tux they're the same person. I think explaining genetic cloning would be a little more confusing for the little ones.

Quit focusing on Mickey.

I'm looking forward to some hot, Minnie-on-Minnie action.

Yes, one of her, anyway. The other one is more domestic.

Actually, Disney was one fo the few companies that extended company benefits to domestic partners, regardless of sex, back in the 90s. They're among the most gay-friendly companies around.

Not so friendly to the transgendered folks, but hey, who is?

The impression I have from friends who worked there is that they also have one of the gay-est workforces. Dunno if this caused the gay-friendliness, or is a consequence.

Also, I know of two cases of gender change operations in Southern California of scientists at very different research facilities. In both cases, he became a she and apparently no one cared. In one of the two cases, I have met the individual. I did not work at either place, but very good friends did.

I know two cases is not a rule but my impression is that the world at large (which admittedly I know little about) is far harsher. At least there are some success stories.

Pretty amusing considering the whole hatred of the Jew thing good ole Walt had back in the day.

My only experience is with a transgendered student's lawsuit against disney for not allowing her to participate in the intern program after being accepted due to the fact that they refused to house her with either the women or the men in the dorms. It was nice since they let her know after she had already given up her apartment and quit her job.

Well they wanted to avoid the slippery slope that leads to co-ed restrooms. If you think we're giving up our urinals and waiting in line, you've got another thing coming, sister!
