...since I'm afraid of heights and would cry the whole time, but it's pretty cool that they just built this near here.

All I can think of when I look at it is, where do you park? That would be because I'm wicked boring.

I'm not even clicking on that link...I don't even like reading news stories about the damn thing. ***************

And no, in Chicago, I have no desire to do the Ferris Bueller style lean against the window in the high building. gah.

I have goosebumps now.

I like looking out the window from the bar.

Once I get more than about 20 floors up my ******** starts to pucker a little when I lean against the window and look out. If I am outside, all it takes is about 100 feet.

Someone explain the fear of heights to me. It's not like you are going to fall off the building unless you are really clumsy.

I'm so scared of heights that when I jump off something "tall" in a video game, my palms sweat and I gasp a little.

Fighting in Outlands is killing me. =(

Hence the use of the word "irrational" in the definition of phobias.

Mine has more to do with the almost irresistible urge to jump, and I'm pretty sure it would kill me. That vertigo is a *****.

Oh, yea.

I dunno, I felt like such a weak *** putz as a kid, because I was scared of heights, I jumped off the roof of my house til I wasn't (fortunatly it was only a one story house). I did that with the fear of drowning also.

Edit: erm, learned to swim I mean. Jumping off a house wouldn't help the fear of drowning.

Oh, not at all. I don't even know I'm doing it. I was overlooking a waterfall once and had to get tackled by my friend, because apparently I was at a 45 degree angle and didn't notice. I just remember being entranced by the distance, feeling a pull...

Anyhoo, that's why I don't like heights.

I overcame any fear I had by working as a roofer for one hot, drug-fueled summer in the mountains of Colorado. Up there, all the roofs are quite steep in order to avoid having a bunch of snow build up and collapse the structure. After a couple of tumbles I was fearless. The booze probably helped in many ways, too.

Nowadays, one of my favorite pasttimes is cliff-diving. Behold the magical healing properties of alcohol!

Was it booze or drugs? Around here all the roofers use drugs.

Both. Your roofers sound unskilled.

I get extreme vertigo if I am not focusing on whatever I'm standing on and I'm higher than 3 or 4 feet off the ground. I feel dizzy and like I'm falling over.

It comes with being blonde.

I know what you mean! I`m not even afraid of heights (no really, I`m not...much) and when I accidentally jump down from higher than I thought, I can feel my stomach twisting.

It's creepy how much you get into it.

Roll a rogue. Safefall = win.

Edit: Or roll a mage. Slowfall = win as well.

Slowfall? Nah... I prefer the occasional adrenaline rush or SPLAT!-related funny stories.

Like that time when me and my wife went to fight the centaur-boss (you know, the one in Desolace where you have to blow the horn) and as I see them running towards us, I rush to place an ice trap in their way, and jumps back in place in a stylish spin-jump... and violently die, far down the hill, leaving my wife to fight the waves of centaurs alone, facing a horrible horrible death. :p

If one of those centaurs saw the back end of a horse in a barn or something and only the back end do you think they'd mount it?

I ask the same question. Replace with taurens and cows. I always wondered...
