...erm I mean troops!

Quote:
President Bush warned Congress today that if it fails to send him an acceptable Iraq war funding bill by mid-April, it will threaten U.S. military equipment and training.

As if this is somehow more irresponsible that forcing a war for personal interests and repeatedly making flawed policy decisions that helped lead to the rise of the current insurgency all while burning all bridges with allies both internationally and the area itself thereby setting back any chances at a true victory to the point that it seems almost impossible. All while expecting the troops to do the grunt work while you wait for your presidency to end so the next guy has to deal with the problem.

Like the U.S. military doesn't get enough federal funds anyway.

The funny thing is that he, and gbaji, will blame Democrats for losing the Iraq War.

"We were this close to winning it, and then you withdrew the funds. It would've been a clear victory otherwise..."

Well, if Bush fails to sign the funding bill, it means that he is threatening the troops!!

Wow, that was easy.

Exactly.

He spent the first four years of his presidency blaming everything on Clinton. He will blame the last four on a new series of Democrats. For a man and a party that is so hell bent on personal responsibility and for people taking account for their own actions, they sure as hell spend most of their time trying to pass the buck onto the other guy. He is the Commander and Chief, the buck stops with him.

I also find it to be a ******* disgrace that they continually say 'we accept responsibility all the while doing everything they can to shirk it'. Sure it is politically convenient to present an image of a straight shooter but when there is such a dichotomy between words and actions it becomes sickening even when viewed through the political filter.

Yes, well, erm, De Gaulle made quite a few stupid speeches in his lifetime, as well as some good ones.

His "Je vous ai compris!" to the Algerians, implying that he understood that they wanted to remain French, was almost as stupid as the Quebec one.

Still I, for one, declare my undying and eternal love for the people of Canada Maple Syrup! Yum!

As opposed to the "Maple-Syrup-flavoured Syrup I saw in Puerto Rico."

A Pakistani tribal militant group responsible for a series of deadly guerrilla raids inside Iran has been secretly encouraged and advised by American officials since 2005, U.S. and Pakistani intelligence sources tell ABC News.

I'm still agog at the idea that he's so concerned about getting military equipment to the troops.

You know, the troops who had to buy their own body armor for the first year they were in Iraq? Yeah, those guys.

Has there ever been any budget passed in the history of this government that didn't involve spending other people's money?
