I couldn't help but notice your siggy. I'm currently reading Upton Sinclair's The Jungle, the uncut version apparently and I was wondering a couple of things.

1. That story is more or less based in truth, yes? Not so much the characters but the sort of events that took place. Does Packingtown exist? Can we go, huh, huh?

2. Any other suggested reading by the aforementioned author? I've decided that I like him, he's so dreamy.

The street names, slaughterhouses, packing yards, etc are (or were) all real locations. There's not much to see now though if you wanted a tour of a giant carcass heap.

I'm not especially familiar with Sinclair's body of work though. I had a history teacher who once said "Sinclair was an important author -- just not a very good one" Smiley: grin
