For the logo here:

Can anyone identify the font for the "Z" (which is actually a 3, and the font used in the "Magical Realm, your everquest community" section of the logo.

Ahem.

[pedant]
It's neither a 'z' nor a '3' but a 'yogh'

An old Irish and Middle-English letter pronounced like the 'ch' in the scottish word 'loch'.
[/pedant]

So we are actually in Allakhachams magical realm? Smiley: lol excellent.

I have a friend called Farid Ouzzani that writes the "z"'s like that (and it's pronounced "wazzani" not "oozani")

Allakhazam looks like a variant of Dauphin Link but there a lot of differences. Your EverQuest looks like a variant of Zapf Chan Link

They are not exact matches though. The person who created your logo, you sure he didn't create a special font exclusively for the site? If so then you'd have a hard time getting it from anyone but him.

Here is the word in the above suggestions Link as with font matching its always...ohh its so close!

Maybe he used these and tweaked the letters by converting them to curves to get the desired look?

ALso if you have time to kill, search this site. Use the top navigation bar for the free fonts and use the one at the bottom for fonts your purchase. Maybe it can help you track down a better answer then i could give.

Allakhazam Found it!

Link its called Caliph. The z or 3 doesn't match but that might be a custom job by the designer?

Still no clue what Magical Realm is or EverQuest Community.

Could it be some sort of Arabian font?

I dunno it looks kinda like the Prince of Persia writing, and the cover writing for old old game I had on PSX called Magic Carpet

The closest i've found so far is Segoe Script, but it doesn't have a large loop on the bottom of 3. No one seems to know exactly who made the origional unfortunatly, so it could very well be custom. I know that the "m" on allakhazam's is customized slightly so it is a definite possibility. The Magical Realm text is the main piece I need at the moment.

Pikko found the font for the rest of the allakhazam portion. it's called "aladdin" and is a 100% match for everything except the z-3-yogh and the other text. I don't want to recreate the your everquest community part, but it's the same font as the matical realm portion i believe, so it's there for reference.

Well if you get me the Font File for Aladdin, I can just remake the 3 to what it is in the logo cause I can guarantee thats how it was originally done.

Actually, Sora's Caliph looks to be the correct one. The Aladdin 'm' does not have the little up swish at the end.

Could you explain to me what it is you need? Do you need the font name or a Hi Res Version of the logo? Details please.

I have a duplicated Allakhazam Logo (crazy Z included) but without the daggers and Magical Realm. Keep in mind the "Z" is not a letter but curves.

I'd have to agree that the Caliph font looks to be the proper one. It just looks like the 'z' in Allakhazam was replaced with a subset '3'. Otherwise it looks to be the exact same font.

The Caliph font is correct.

They used Ω , which comes out as your "z"

Link

The Alla is a fully scalable vectored image, meaning no pixels. So far I am having a tough time matching the gradient (colors) so what I produced is just a rough example.

That's because real designers use Adobe products. Smiley: tongue

Ehh I have Adobe CS2 on this machine but I never use it. Corel is watered down and a lot less complicated to use for my mundane projects.

I'm trying to recreate the logo for a sig i'm working on. Still haven't found a good match for the other font, but that caliph font was dead on. There is a different version of it that has the correct z too.

Yeah everyone went nuts when I found the Aladdin font, but damned if we can find that Z! Kao and I were laughing because no one saw the 3 in the Z. I do believe it's custom.

I love the font, and I love the copy that Sora did. I hope we keep it, dunno it just feels like home! I just don't like change. Smiley: cry

We found the Z Darkflame! But that font won't work for the Magical Realm Part, which I also need.

Right. That's why I use chainsaws and sledgehammers to transplant violets.

Quick and dirty, but looks like its going to be doable. Needs shading and better drop shadows of course. and the gradiant is off;

For "Magical Realm" try CascadeScript.

That's the closest I could find, but it's not a free font. With luck, you'll have something in its family that would help. There are some minor differences, but that was the closest I could manage.
