I used to spend a lot of nude time in my old apartment. I've also noticed that if Joph and I rent a hotel room, I also tend to spend a lot of time in the nude. Kids tend to put a damper on such expressions.

Even with your child awake? MrKatie and I tend to run around the house naked. I don't think I'd be comfortable with it if we had a child though.

when they are young you can get away with it. In fact, Ive found that my son has a very relaxed attitude for the human body. I dont look at nudity as something vulgar and should be covered at all times. He's learned that the human body is what it is and not something to be ashamed of.

That said, once he got to be about 4 I tend to make sure Im wearing a robe when walking around the house, unless its late at night and hes asleep. More so for the sake that he learns there is a time and place for everything. So far I havent had him strip and run nude anywhere thats unacceptable.

And also as I nurse his infant brother, its hard for him not to see parts of me that many people would condemn. But Ive taught him that thats how babies are fed and thats what boobs are for. He has a clear understanding that boobs are for babies food and of course, babies have to eat!!! He can learn what else theyre for later on in life and from his GF ;)

I had 2 co-workers who were present in the room when their mother gave birth to younger siblling. They were both old enough to remember the event. They also 'saw it' if you know what I mean.

I have tried to mull over the pros/cons of exposing your children to that but everytime I think of it I get stuck at "DUDE! /Gross" and then my brain shuts off.

I pee with the door open with no regard to who's or what's in my house.

A quick shot in the eye will usually stop the dog from watching you too closely whilst you "drain the lizard"

and thats a line I refuse to cross. Again, there is a time and place for everything, and having your child see you naked from the waist down, spread eagle and having a baby pushing its way through your nether regions is not something Im down with. Hell, I had a hard enough time having Sickabilly in the room seeing me in that condition. Both times I tried to make sure he stayed at my shoulder and didnt get a closer look.

Pretty much. I saw my father nude once, and I almost threw up. I still find the male form to be beautiful, but holy hell, I didn't need to see that. I assume my kids would feel the same way.

I live alone, so it's pretty rare that any internal door is shut. Unless there is company over, of course.

That said, for some odd reason I never walk around in the buff. I've always got at least boxers or a towel wrapped after a shower. I couldn't tell you why.

Funny, I've seen my father nude when he took a bath many times growing up and it never phased me. To me, he was just taking a bath. I guess I was just raised to not overly react to a nude body. I never thought about that (being a kid and seeing my parents nude) until this thread.

On a related subject, most guys that I know never wear shirts when they're home. Why is that? I had a guy friend that would wear sweat pants, socks and his shoes around the house, but never a shirt. It always threw me off when I visited.

It is just comfortable, plus it saves on laundry.

Too bad my dinner plate sized nipples make it socially unacceptable to take my shirt off in public. Smiley: cry

I think Sarah had a kid in one of her classes that would randomly strip and run around, and had no concept that it was a bad thing. We hypothesized that the kid came from a family that walked around naked.

That struck as odd. I know that Girls Gone Wild trolls Cancun during spring break, but your entire family following your sister there, that sounds like another great asylum movie idea to me. We need a producer connection, these ideas are a heck of alot better than half the stuff that hollywood comes up with.

I frequently walk around my home in the nude. It's relaxing, in its own way. As for the door to the bathroom... you know, for some odd reason I tend to close it while I go to the bathroom, even though I live alone. I guess it's just one of those habits. Cooking food though, I either put on cloths or don an apron- I like hot oils, but not THAT hot.

Eh, I grew up in the "nudity isn't vulgar" family, pretty much how DSD raises her son. To this day, I still don't think much of nudity from either gender (if there's more activity with the opposite gender, that sort of changes things Smiley: sly.) Friends would change in front of me knowing that I wouldn't go bonkers over it. In some instances, I don't even notice (watching TV, reading a book, generally spaced out)

I've seen my dad nude before and didn't think much of it. Mom would always use the bathroom with the door open to keep an eye over my mischievous sister, when she used the guest bathroom.

Despite this, I'm more conservative of my nudity. That's mostly due to me thinking I'm a fat hog and nobody needs to get blinded, though. Smiley: laugh

At home, sleeveless shirt or undershirt is fine. I'm not keen on being shirtless; specially if there's people over.

I saw my mom nude once that I can remember, when I was about four or five. She had spilled a thermos of scalding hot coffee on her crotch, and promptly dropped all her clothing from the waist down and sat on a chair in the living room shrieking in pain. Jesus Christ, I'm lucky I'm not like all fUcked up or anything.

I never close the door unless we have company over. My one cat likes to come in and rub against my leg and I usually end up pissing on his tail when it goes over the bowl. I clean it off obviously.

In the morning the same cat jumps on the wifeys lap when goes number #1.

It's become a habit to just close the door and turn on the lights whenever I use the bathroom for anything, even if I'm just brushing my teeth. I don't close it all the way though, usually just swing it closed lightly and it ends up being right against the frame; when I still had my cat he'd sometimes wander inside of the bathroom and stare at me then walk back out.

As for the lack of clothing when walking around, unless there's a stranger over I walk around in whatever I feel like, sans the nude. Even if I just know them from school i'll probably just wear boxers unless they came over specificly for me. If that's the case then I just throw on some shorts/pants/a robe. There are some old friends that are exceptions to this rule, I'll throw that up to being slothy. I have however walked around in the nude when nobodys home and I know they won't be back for a while, but I have to make sure all the doors are closed/locked :/
