3rd edition rules are by far the easiest for new players to pick up. Those 3.5 rules they made though just pissed me off. Everyone knows they did it so people would have to buy the god damn books all over again.

Geekdom isn't supposed to be "Easy". That's why I played Twilight:2000.

"I use my carbine to fire at the guy in the APC"

"Ok, roll these... now these... write those numbers down... roll this handful... okay, we need to calculate for glass dispersal when your round hits the windshield so roll these.. divide that by... nine... does the cartridge on the M16 eject to the left or the right?... ok.. roll this.. does your calculator do logarhythms? Good. Ok...

...

You missed."

Doesn't that usually happen when everyone is jacked up on Grape Kool-Aid after the GM has called the game for the evening?

Lol. Twilight 2000. We actually rolled up characters for that and ran through one combat. Once. I think the immediate response was something like: "Ok. Who wants to play Champions?...".

If by Grape Kool-Aid you mean mushrooms and pot, then yes, possibly.

Ooh, I thought of a huge bump to my cred; my first pencil and paper roleplaying game was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I think I was a mutant bird of some sort, and I had an armored panel van with a machine-gun turret on top. Of course, I was like ten or eleven, so make what you will of that.
