President Bush, standing in front of a banner that read "Rebuilding Our Republican Majority" and flanked by two giant puzzle pieces, last night pledged to House Republicans that the GOP will retake both congressional chambers and "hold the White House in 2008."

Attending the first National Republican Congressional Committee dinner in Washington since the party lost control of the House and the Senate in November, the president fed hundreds of Republican lawmakers red meat, lambasted Democrats for trying to "micromanage" the war in Iraq and vowed to continue to appoint conservative judges.
[...]
Looking fresh after a five-country trip south of the border, the president reviewed Republican accomplishments during his administration: the largest tax cuts since Ronald Reagan, a booming economy that has created 7.5 million jobs in less than four years, and a newly revamped education system in which "minority students are beginning to close the achievement gap."
If my party just lost both houses of Congress largely due to the bungling of one man, I don't know if I'd want that man to be my standard bearer for the next election. And I sure as hell wouldn't be citing NCLB as one of my party's primary accomplishments.

Awesome. Between here and OOT, AC's been reduced to answering solely in over-used internet pics and memes Smiley: laugh

Usually it takes longer to break them.

That's our fault. Rejection from the Asylum is normal, but to be rejected so quickly and wholeheartedly by the OOT really shows how inadequate he was.

Hey now, we of the OOT do not brag or take credit for anything like breaking people. AC was already broken before starting an Alla account.

the only feasable way bush could be any part of the GOP retaking the house and senate and winning the presidency in 2008 is of the GOP themselves impeached him and used him as a scape goat for all their ills in the last 6 years.

the only way.

people are ignorant for the most part. they will believe whatever they want to believe. but you beat on theri heads long enough, they wil eventually get sick of it. and the GOP has been beating on them for 6 years now.

the only thing they are liekly to winn in 2008 is the prize for loosing faster in an election than anyone else in history.

I'll bet there was one phrase on his speech paper, bolded and highlighted.

"Silent Majority"
