Edit: Wrong episode name ><

You know this post will contain spoilers, so anyone who reads after this line has been warned.

I was pretty disgusted by Lee and really couldn't believe that he gave everything up like that. But I know everyone that calls him Emopollo aren't surprised at all.

I find Baltar excruciatingly boring at this point and from the looks of the preview next week, it will finally get interesting in court. The only time Baltar is interesting lately is when he's talking to Caprica Six.

So without seeing the previews for the finale next week, how many of you know/knew what is going on with Tigh? I know simply because I read a spoiler thread about it last week. I don't know why I did, I was just drawn like a magnet to it for some reason. I'll stop here to issue ANOTHER SPOILER WARNING so that people can enjoy the finale next week. The whole thread will probably contain spoilers for next week, so if you don't want to know, don't come back to this thread until after next Sunday.

They flash seven faces during the preview when Adama says "It's true, we're Cylons." (talking to Lee?!?) Those faces were Roslin, Lee, Admiral Adama, Chief Tyrol, Helo, Anders, and Tigh. So thoughts on final five? Happy? Disappointed? Who of them are final five and do you still think Starbuck is one? What makes these people special? Did they grow up normally? Can anyone remember any special links in the past for these characters? The only person that has any linking is Chief, simply because he had that weird "feeling" and found the temple back on the algae planet.

I'm guessing they're trying to confuse people with what Adama said, so I'm guessing Lee and Admiral are out. Helo can't be one because then Hera wouldn't really be a human cylon hybrid. Obviously Tigh and Anders are candidates with them getting special "musical" attention this week. They don't show Tori's face, but they make us think that she can hear the music too, so I'm putting my bets on Tigh, Chief, Anders, Tori, and Starbuck.

In all honesty, I feel that he was pushed into this a little bit, by his father no less. He tried to explain himself to his dad, only to be called a liar and a coward (a coward who at the beginning of this very season saved the Admiral's *** by risking his own, no less). He's idealistic to a fault, sure, but his loyalty and service to the fleet shouldn't have been questioned by his own father, and of course his wife. With everyone pushing him away for taking the non-popular stance, he has two choices: Conform, or stand by his principles.

I know, but it was still sad to see him at that point and in that position.

I resemble this remark. I didn't read anymore as the show is TiVoed 'til I see it later today but let me say this: if it is anything like a hissy fit and involves Emopollo with that goddamn 'poor me' look on his face I am not suprised in the least.

I'm pretty sure it was all the people "hearing" that song throughout the episode are the robots...

But I only recall three people hearing it: Tigh, Anders, & Tori.

Jurys still out on the other two.

But it looks like some sh*t is going down next week, huzzah!

Well. But he didn't even do it very well. He takes his one shot at blasting the President's credibility and she turns it around on him. He's got that "little kid on the big kid's playground" thing going on right now.

Not sure what direction the writers are going with this, but it just seems like one guy can only go up and down so many times. Normally when a character undergoes some sort of epiphany they character changes and becomes stronger for it. In Lee's case, it seems like the opposite. In just this season, he's had the whole "I'm a fatty cause I'm emotionally weak", then he gets some guts and gets back into shape. Then he's having an affair with starbuck, then gets some guts, realizes what he's doing in wrong and patches things up with his wife. Now he's decided that he can't hack being CAG anymore and wants to defend Baltar.

I know that they want to show some "humanity" in the characters, but I just think they're overdoing it in his case. It's just not that hard in the real world to maintain some level of priorities. Doubly so since you'd think that the last handful of times he went down the emo path, he'd have learned...

As to the rest of the episode. I'm still curious exactly what the music is supposed to signify. Clearly, only some people can hear it. What's not clear yet is why. Are they cylons? Something "like" cylons? My first thought was that this is what the cylons are actually using to track the fleet. That somehow they managed to place a beacon on Galactica and some people can hear it as well.

Heh. It would be funny if after all this time Tigh were to discover that he was a cylon. Not sure what the old man would do...

I find it interesting that Chief, Tigh, and Anders are up there as final five when the three of them are basically the leaders of the resistance. Cylons fighting cylons all along, ha!

If Chief is indeed a final five, that means Nicky is a hybrid as well.

I agree about Lee, I wish he'd just keep his feet on the ground already. I'm guessing that they're using this to lay groundwork for stuff that happens in season 4, but yeesh it's annoying already.

It's going to be great watching Tigh find out he's a toaster.

If they get to the final five now, that doesn't really leave all that much room for a long run. I mean, how many seasons was BSG planned to run for? (if that was even decided beforehand)

It's interesting that the very last episode of the original series ended with Starbuck crash landed and presumed dead. It's titled: The Return of Starbuck.

I thought it was Chief Tyrol's voice that uttered, "It's true, we're Cylons."

And I think you're dead on with Tori, Tigh, Anders, and Tyrol being Cylons. But I don't think Starbuck is (or was o_o), she's something for more important I think.

I adored the episode, especially the Colonel Tigh parts. That stuff was heartbreaking. Can't wait till sunday!

I thought they were just finding radio waves from Earth at first. The music kinda sounded like cheesy 50s rock to me. hehe
I hope they make it good.

Smiley: lol

Having read a blow-by-blow synopsis of this two parter last week, I know exactly what song it is. Not even close to being "cheesy 50s rock." Though I am still wondering why exactly they used that particular song for that particular purpose.

It was posted last week to a very busy LiveJournal community I'm on, I am not sure I could find it again, but I will try.
