It was adjusting based on age?

I hope so, all IQ tests do. Otherwise a 2 year old genius and a 25 year old idiot would have identical scores.

Says I got a 123. When I took a MENSA IQ test I got a 168, and the test was 4 hours long. Real IQ tests are always several hundred questions.

Standard deviation. I think you should take 100 more tests to limit the statistical variance. It's quite likely your 'real' IQ is closer to 135.

Sorry, dummy.

Well the primary reason was to collect marketing data, but they did adjust the score based on age so they could elevate it a hair width above them magazeen eye-q tests.

You mean the internet lied to you?! Say it ain't so!

A few things you might want to know. Most people have taken an eye-q test in their lifetime. Most people have never taken a valid iq test in their lifetime. And lastly that most people who have taken a valid iq test have taken one of a differing score system and meant to measure different levels.

Mensa scores people much higher to inflate membership, they are selling you ego for a monthly fee.

And last that IQ as a scalar quantity is utter crap. Vetors pweese!

This is the second time this has been mentioned without any sort of attribution. I think the idea of Mensa-like societies is a little silly in general, but it seems unlikely they'd bother to doctor tests to increase membership when their acceptance threshold is already low enough to guarantee lots of members.

If you have some sort of vague proof of your claim, please offer it instead of this random 'they might have a motive to do xyz, so I'll just say they do'.

I realise I offered no support, but it is rather annoying to go search for teh articles and evidences again. I have to leave soon so I cannot do it now, however when I get back I will try to do a quick search and find the proof again, if I do not then I will rescind that comment.

I will say that I have been tested by Mensa and received wha tI thought was a soemwhat grossly exaggerated score as compared to other tests (yes I did the conversions correctly). Of course this is only anecdotal evidence.

I am not saying that all the high IQ societies do this, from my understanding many of the others do use more widely accepted tests and do not try to inflate membership, and that only Mensa was the one after your money.
