Are there any meats that fall into the category of 'icky' that you like?
Octopus? (If quickly cooked in a good sauce - sensational)
Snails? (Only with plenty of parsley and garlic with a little lemon juice)
Horse? (Not a fan - OK but the texture and flavoUr are no match for steak)
Frog's Legs? - Can't be ***** picking at 'em - Gimme a butterflied chicken breast
Worms? - Cleaned and fried until crispy - Were nice enough but I'd rather have regular noodles.
Snake? - See Frog's Legs above
Anyone drool or shudder at these or other 'different' foods?
Octopus and Squid? - Too rubbery for my liking
Snails? - Mmmm Escargot. I'll even make this at home it's so good.
Horse? - No idea
Frog's Legs? - Good
Worms? - Fine in cookies
Snake? - Nope
I have had the following though:
Alligator - MMM
Emu - tastes like chicken
Deer - My favourite
Moose - Gamey version of Deer
Bear - Gamey, but good.
Turtle - Snapping turtle soup!
Oysters - fabulous raw
Clams - Good steamed
Muscles - good steamed
Shrimp -
Lobster -
Liver - good with onions
heart - nothing special
tongue - Did not really like the flavour
Dog - No different than beef
Duck - good ground or sliced
Goose - very good
crickets - crunchy, no flavour
Pheasant - quite good, little meat though
Grouse - see pheasant
There's probably more that I've had, but I just can't be ***** to think that hard.
