"Boston" lead singer Brad Delp dead.

Quote:
Atkinson police responded to a call for help at 1:20 p.m. and found Delp dead. Police Lt. William Baldwin said in a statement the death was "untimely" and that there was no indication of foul play.

A mean way of telling people that a musician is dead is to first get one of their songs stuck in the reader's head.

Gonna hitch a ride
Head for the other side
Leave it all behind
Never change my mind
Gonna sail away
Sun lights another day
Freedom on my mind
Carry me away for the last time
Oh yeah

Back in '79 or '80 my local record store gave me about 30 12" album sleeves of Boston's album (The 'spaceship guitar' graphic)

For a few months they covered my wall.

**** Bum Covers ftw!

Boston has long been one of my favorite bands. Yuppie college rock, I liken them to the Gin Blossoms of their day. I have their debut album, alas I've yet to hear it spun.

Boston's best song, by far, was Amanda.
