Anyone else check out last night's Lunar Eclipse?

After a pissy day of clouds and rain I wasn't convinced I'd get to see it, but just before it was due to start, the clouds parted as if Terry Gilliam had done the storyboard.

Clear sparkly night sky, moon hanging as big as one of Katie's cystic Ovaries, glass of wine. Perfick!

As well as playing peekaboo, the moon chose a strange reddish-coppery hue for a change. Very fetching, I thought.

Some nice piccies Here

Caught the end of it coming back from dinner, unfortunately I missed the red hue.

Still it was nice, reminds me of when my grandfather used to let me look through his telescope.

I was all excited and shit to see it, but it didn't rise till sometime after 6 and I didn't see it at all till I was getting hime, around 9:30. By then there was a slight red tinting on one edge and that was all. Smiley: bah

It finally peeked above the cloud cover by me with about 75% of the moon still red. It looked alot darker red than the BBC pic showed it. That sight must of scared the crap out of people in the dark ages, it was so very close to the color of blood.

Try it with the Belladonna Potion and slaughtered virgin's mensis next time. It rocked my world.

I find that menstral clot chunks work better for meteor showers, but that may just be because of my orientation with the Dragon Line.
