The university I work at almost never cancels for weather...but I guess since they're predicting around 2 feet of snow tomorrow, they decided it was appropriate.

I hate this state, but at least I get a paid day off!

Currently it's raining in Des Moines, IA. The have shut down City Hall, the Recorders Office, The Clerk of Court, District Court, and all the schools are letting out early.

I-80 and I-380 are shut as well.

And my secretary left at Noon because it could "freeze up any second".

Raining here as well.

Thunderstorms + Snow melt + Frozen Ground = Flood warnings.

I could have used for the school to close though. I have a test tonight Smiley: mad

I'm taking the next week off as there are rumors of a crack in a paving slab a few miles from my office, and I saw a cloud today, so possible double whammy!

Getting a flood warning here north of NYC too, though much of the snow from the past week has already melted off with this mild weather. And just think, about three weeks ago here it was averaging fifteen. Fahrenheit.

Low 70s, clear skys and just a little breezy, if I wasn't pretending to work I'd go to the beach.

Ok, awesome. THe warnings were pretty much on top of it.

They have shut down all the highways and interstates. Des Moines, IA is virtually an island surrounded by an ocean of snow and lazy city service workers.
