I think this is a wonderful idea! We should definantly have one installed in every hospital!

The baby, who is white, was deposited in a small structure equipped with a heated cradle and life-saving instruments, including a respirator. As in bygone days, it is possible for a woman to leave a baby without being seen, but the moment the child is abandoned an alarm goes off in the hospital's emergency room, ensuring that the baby receives immediate first aid from a team of specialists.

I'm all for that. I think there should be rooms for toddlers, children and teenagers, too. No one should ever have to go through a bunch of red tape to abandon their kids.

You know, it would really speed things up if would-be adoptive parents could just pick up the kids the same way.

Smart ones have already added 'baby slots' in their living rooms. The problem comes when people use the same rooms as home offices and poorly place paper shredders.

Have you ever tried putting a baby through a paper shredder? These work better.

Dyslexia moment, I just realized that this topic wasn't "Fondling Wheel". I mean everyone else seemed to go with it, so I was just trying to fit in...

The baby, who is white...

I read this far and was just waiting for this "wheel" contraption to apply paint, or something. Why on Earth do they mention the baby is white? Is there a different one for black babies?

Anyhow, actually seems to be a much better idea then the predominant one here of leaving foundlings with firefighters. Nothing against firefighters but the ones I've met haven't struck me as the most knowledgeable about all things baby. I'm sure they just take the baby to the appropriate place...but it is funny to me thinking of my friends who became firefighters having a newborn thrust upon them.
