They might want to look into fixing this. Some kind of market stability would likely prevent abuse.

Now that former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan has left office, he is freer to speak his mind about the state of the economy.

And so on Monday, he warned that a recession might be coming in the U.S. by year's end. It sent shudders through financial markets. He's sort of a King Kong when it comes to forecasting.

He said in a satellite hookup to a Hong Kong business conference that the economy has been rising since 2001 and might be in for a fall.

I was going to create a thread about this called "A Butterfry fraps its wings..."

How strange for someone of my generation to get my head around the concept of a Chinese Stock Exchange. . . never mind it rippling across Wall Street and the City of London.

So don't just stock up on flour and water.

Invest in Chinese Industry now! Buy a Chevvy or a Jaguar!

What? They're not Chinese owned? OK - give it a few weeks.

Probably not yet. If it's an actual correction you'll likely see another 1-2% drop tomorrow where you could pick up Intel at 19 or whatever.

Of unstable prices just after precipitous drops "crashes" in the entire market. I thought that would be self evident. Of course, for an inveterate gambler like yourself, my suggestion would seem to quash the great potential for acquisition in such circumstances.

Although it may seem like science fiction, it may also help prevent a cadre of Enron-types from actually crashing the market, intentionally, with the assistance of technology.
