I say stay away from Madison and Alyssa... you will see 8 years from now when all of your girl's friends are named variants of those two. They are really on the upswing right now, I'm not even a kid and I know 5 children named Madison and 3 Alyssa's.

I'm a little bit of a fan of making up your own name. I was disappointed as a child to learn that most names are actually words from other languages, so there aren't many names that are JUST a name.
