Could we be losing in Iraq because...Follow

#1 Feb 19 2007 at 2:37 PM Rating: Decent
God doesn't want us to win?

That was the topic of Dr. Ron Archer's speech today when he came to my school. Dr. Archer is a motivational speaker, and he has advised the President (not sure how well that's going though), the CIA, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff on a fairly regular basis. He has also visited Iraq and worked on negotiations with North Korea.

Anyways, he was saying that generals are reporting strange things happening in Iraq. Iraqis ambushing perfectly hidden troops. Soldiers see a group of Iraqis and fire, only to discover that they were American soldiers. Tanks explode for seemingly no reason.

Are there logical, temporal reasons for these happenings? Possibly. Do I believe that these instances are acts of God? Not completely, but I think it could be likely. I'm just some brainwashed schoolchild anyways. I'll let you decide for yourself.

So what do you think?

Yeah but he's a darkie, so they just keep asking him to go get coffee.

That's some motivation, there. Didn't Bush tell him that God is on our side?

mabe, mabe not. personally, i think if God didnt want us there, george would have woke up from a nap on morning before the war started and said, hey, lets go to iran instead. or he would have just droped dead and the war war never would have started to begine with.

but thats just me. i think God lets us choose our own paths here. and the paths we choose bind us to our fate after we leave here. i think God let us go to iraq because thats what we WANTED to do, well, some of us anyway. God let us nail the lid on our own coffin. he shows us the path, but does not force us to walk it.

God demands absolute, unquestioning faith or else he gets angry.

You must believe in Bush's plan in Iraq whole heartedly and without question and all will be well!

A complete and utter urban myth if I ever saw one.

Well, except for our feminists, and our environmentalists, and those that live in the countryside, and those over 35.

I'd like to apologise for the flippant remark above. I was being sarcastic. And it wasn't called for. Sorry.

I think you lost in Iraq the moment you stepped accross the border. Nothing to do with God.

More to do with an idiotic plan, formulated by greedy paranoid fools, and carried out by an unsuspecting and blinkered military machine, against a country that hates being occupied, and its men, women and children being randomly tortured and slaughtered by the said occupier.

I could be wrong tho.

After all, nothing is the fault of the individual in the US.

Its always someone elses negligence.

Spill your coffe while driving. Sue the vendor.

Kill your dog in a microwave. Sue the vendor.

Lose a war in a third world country, that is already on its knees, blame God.

Blame the president? Cant do that. that would mean accepting collective blame for the fiasco. After all, he was re-elected, and he's still 'staying the course, with no serious opposition.

I've noticed a trend of late, from many rightwing commentators and gubnment official types to actually blame the Iraqis, (and Afghans) for their own predicament!

Par for the course I'd say.

The point is more that God would punish America for turning away from Him, like what happened in Ai. I don't think God was the one who sent us on an expensive collision course with the Axis of Evil.

Whose God we talking about here? Allah? Jehovah? buddha/John Frum.

But, point taken. I imagine that the great bearded one in the sky is pretty
p1$$3d off with the way His name is being used to justify whats being perpetrated right now.

That can't be it, El Grande Jefe Bush said that before he went to war with Iraq he prayed about it.

That's enough to convince a little over 50 percent of U.S.A.'s voting populace, why do you hate voters?
