Right now I own an insurance agency that's doing quite well. I make well over 6 figures and pretty much have what I desire, financially speaking.

I've recently been made an offer by a group of agents from the company I write for, you're in good hands, to set up an independent agency where they can refer all their non-standard lines. Normally I wouldn't consider selling what i've created to work for anyone else; however the amount of money we're talking is as lucrative as I've seen. We're talking about making as much as 500k annually in less than 3 yrs. Then again why would I want to work for someone else, even if it's twice what i'm making now, when I really don't have any bills or major expenses.

I'm so conflicted.

Well, if you make "over" six figures now, you must be making a mil+. Why downgrade?

Take the job. You can re-tarpaper your shack and you'll have more money to leave to your dog when you die.

I'd already planned on leaving the entire estate to my sheppard anyway.

How does six figures equate to over a million annually?

I should have put in a caveat that if you've never made over 6 figures you probably shouldn't put in your 2 cents.

Try and spell it correctly in the will or else your dog's estate will wind up in probate.

The freedom of working for yourself means so much more then more money. If you make a comfortable living why add stress to it and having to answer to someone else? Also I would just stick with what I have built from the ground up. Call it a sense of pride.

His names Rush...the Danes name is Duke (he's like the red-headed step child)

On a different note i've had more fun watching the two play fight the last two nights than 6 months worth of crappy tv (minus sports)

I can relate...I started this agency from 0 now I eat what I want and do what I want. Which is ironic considering I'm doing the same thing I was when I was only making 20k annually, you know biking, playing with the dogs, reading, and vacationing often. I mean does anyone really find satisfaction just blowing money? The only reason I'm even considering the change is if it works out like it should I can retire by 35 earning close to six figures strictly on the interest of my investments. It's a toss up either way (not that it matters I plan on donating whatever money I don't need to charity anyway)

Take the job and be a corporate slave like the rest of us. 500k annually is a lot of kibbles and bits.

This statement is implying that you make more than six figures. You see, and try to stay with me here, a million dollars has seven figures. Seven, if I'm calculating this correctly, is more than six. I hope you write policies better than you analyze data or else some homeowners are in for a lot of trouble.

When I said well over 6 figures I meant over 100,000. But you're right I worded it poorly.

I really don't get why you brag about making "well over 6 figures". Maybe in buttfUck Gorgia (or whatever hick state you are from) that's a lot, but I have never been really impressed by it. Hell, you can't afford a home in Southern California unless you make a lot more than "well over 6 figures".

As for your excuse to brag, ahem, sorry my view on your "conflict": I work to enjoy my life. I could make more working for someone else but I prefer the freedom of working for myself. Anything else would be type A personality retardation.

Cali lol...What sh*tty place to live. You couldn't pay me enough to be around all those freaks. Oh and a 4000 sq ft house in knoxville with a lakeside view goes for about 1mil. I'm more interested in purchasing all the property/homes in my valley. Once i've accomplished that who knows. My great great great grand daddy turned down over 1000acres of prime real estate less than 5miles from downtown knoxville following civil war due to his beliefs. My beliefs dictate I remedy that mistake.

Git, I giggle at those who feel that yearly figures, how big their house is, and what kind of car they drive is the only thing that determines success. Regardless of what shit you collect in life, in the end it's just another drop in the bucket.

I found a quarter on the ground earlier. This may not seem like much to you, but it added *just* enough to my desk-change collection to get an order of crab rangoons.

So in short, I had delicious crab-rangoons for lunch and you're still a *********

Yea, ditching the Indian food and getting Thai.

Otherwise give the Chicken Paratha a go, (I'm allergic to Coconut, so alot of Indian food for me is bad news) seemed the least offensive when I had Indian. It's like a chicken calzone.

I almost had Thai for lunch. Not a huge fan of calzones. I don't like really greasy or heavy-tasting food.
