Does it suck like Vanguard?

The game looks good without being system intensive. They also have done a rather good job on development. Unlike Vanguard which ran like sh'it and also played like sh'it.

My only beef was with the horrible graphics for dwarf beards.

It doesn't suck. It just lacks depth.

I haven't pre-ordered, even though there's a sweet lifetime deal available. /shrug

I haven't played it yet, but Ive seen it and it looks fairly decent. Ive heard the game play is a lot of fun. I'll most likely be checking it out when it goes live

Looks like they're doing a fairly inexpensive lifetime membership if you preorder.

$200 is the cost of.. what? A year and change at a standard $15/mth rate? Not a bad deal, I guess. So long as the game doesn't suck and you keep playing it, anyway, but I doubt it'd fold before 18 months.

It'll be around for that long, easily. And they DO keep improving it.

Yeah, maybe I'll go for the cheap lifetime membership just to have it as a fall-back game that I won't have to renew for a month every year.

I found I have just enough memory to play the game without lag in busy areas like Archet. I been enjoying the game and will be d/l the patch once the patch server is up. I still crash after awhile, as my pagefile is maxed, but not as much as i did before the last update, so I can live with it for now. If I was going to do a group quest, I would think of logging out and back so to clear my memory, but expect a fix with all the error reports they are getting from me.

Now that the NDA is lifted, I plan to take better notes and maybe even make a map or two for the game. Guess I'm spoil by always being able to look up information on Alla's for eq when I needed it. Window mode only seems to add a little lag to the game.

Hell, even if you bought the pre-order and took the 9.99 per month subscription fee it would be worth it.

I would be game (since I pre-ordered).

I put up a post in the WoW forum to see if any of their regulars who are checking it out would like to tag along. Getting the admins to join would be nice as well since Zam and co. had a nice little alla guild going on Garona and never invited us along /cry

For a while in the previous beta stage, Elderon formed a guild with me, Yanari, Nadenu, Bhodi, and Git (sorry if I forgot anyone else - it has been a while). This game is really quite polished and beautiful. I haven't played lately (although I did download the new beta client last week) due to WoW:TBC, but I'll most likely do the pre-order. All the races are great looking and the character customization is decent. Speaking of the character customization, it has been fleshed out a lot more since the early beta stage.

Definitely worth checking out and giving it a comparison to Vanguard and WoW. LOTRO pulls you right into the world and some key events in Middle Earth's history. I'll still be playing WoW for the time being, but will defintely make time for LOTRO, too.

**EDIT - I just pre-ordered. I'll probably do the $200 lifetime as this game has legs - I would be surprised if it folded before two years. I also forgot to mention that LOTRO has a built-in voice chat capability that works great - Eldy, Git and I used to chat while grouped and it rocked. So no need for Ventrilo or other outside voice chat programs.

I liked the world and the classes, but my vote goes under the "lacks something" category.

Maybe it's improved, I'll try to fire it back up again and see...

I'd fire it up and see but I might possibly have given access to my account to someone else on this forum. In a completely hypothetical and I didnt do it if you ever accused me of it way!
