Ha! You probably had straight water in your reservoir. You need to use an anti-freeze with at least 40% glyceryn. Silly American.
No, I bought the stuff for cold, but I think it was only good to 10 below, and we had a windchill past that a for a couple of days in a row there.
Ah, yeah around here if it's not rated for -40 Celcius then it's not even sold in winter. I take that for granted.

You can remove the reservoir pretty easily with a wrench, then put a bleach bottle in place of it with a hole in top side for the feed tube if you want to do a quick repair for now. Remember to use anti-freeze though or you'll be screwed. Additionally, park your car in a warm garage to un-freeze whatever is in the lines first, then run through some antifreeze. This will stop them from completely not working.
Yeah.... No. I'll wait till it's warm and take it to the mechanic. As a matter of fact, you can probably fix it in August.[/quote]
Amazing that you'd let it go that long! Depending on the year of your vehicle, you can probably get a new resivoir for very cheap at an auto-wreckers and the replacement would take 5 mins for someone mechanically inclined. If you have the part's I'll fix it if I'm around.
