Love Triangle: A symbolic conflict in which each of the three parties has a strong emotional attachment to the other parties, thus making resolution of said conflict difficult without severing close emotional bonds.
Example: Arthur and Lancelot love one another as brothers. Arthur is married to Guenevere who loves him in return. Guenevere is also romantically in love with Lancelot who loves her in return. Resolution is not as simple as Arthur killing Lancelot because doing so would hurt him as much as if he killed Guenevere.
Not an Example: Woman A loves some guy. Woman B loves the same guy. Woman A decides to try to kill Woman B. Media repeatedly calls it a "Love Triangle" despite it really being a "Love Right Angle" with no bond between Women A & B beyond both working for the same general organization.
