Bob Marley, born February 6, 1945, is internationally recognized as the Godfather of reggae. While he did not invent this timeless form, he became reggae's seminal figure. Kick back, mon, and relax to the sounds of reggae in celebration of Marley's birthday.
Instructions

* STEP 1: Take a trip to your local library to do some reading about the man revered by Bob Marley and all other Rastafarians: Haile Selassie, former Emperor of Ethiopia.
* STEP 2: Book a trip to the Caribbean paradise of Jamaica, Marley's home and birthplace.
* STEP 3: Play Bob's debut release track, "Judge Not," as a tribute to the beginning of his prosperous and uplifting career.
* STEP 4: Take a stab at reading the palms of your friends and family. Prior to becoming a singer and musician, Marley was a well-known local palm reader.
* STEP 5: Purchase hemp-manufactured clothing in celebration of the herb that inspired Bob throughout his life.
* STEP 6: Pop open a Red Stripe, Jamaica's favorite beer, in tribute to Marley's homeland.

Tips & Warnings

* In recognition of the legend, make a donation to the American Cancer Society, which collects funds to help in the fight against all forms of cancer. Bob Marley died of melanoma in 1981.
* Be mindful of negative feelings while you celebrate Marley's birthday. He, like all true Rastafarians, preached a peaceful world order with brotherhood and sisterhood between all people.

He also refused all treatment in accordance with his spiritual beliefs.

Why are you defiling his memory!?

I celebrate Bob Marley's birthday everyday.

"Judge not" is an awesome track, but "one cup of coffee" is even better, same music just different lyrics. My favourite tracks include "I'm a rebel", "400-years", "Zimbabwe", and ofcourse "Burning and Looting", soundtrack of the brilliant film "La Haine".

Well, not much else to say except I love the guy like millions of other pot-heads out there. He reggaed my youth.

Security!
Hello, is that reception, London Weekend Television?
No, this is security, reception has gone off duty, sir.
Oh I see, uh I am supposed to meet somebody in reception, and I wanted to know if they were there waiting...
What is the name of the person you are supposed to meet?
Haile Selassie.
Hallie...
Selassie.
Is there a Haile Selassie here?
...no. Could you possibly... if he does... he will come in very shortly; would you tell him that Marcus Garvey phoned?
Uh huh...
And that I will meet him, well it's, meet him in Babylon and Ting?
When Marcus comes in... right?
Yeah.
And you are supposed to be waiting for him to come in...
Is that Haile Selassie?
No, it wasn't him, it was a cab.
He's a black gentleman.
But he when he comes in... you're gonna meet him at... where was it? I'll make a note of this...
Babylon and Ting.
Ba-by-lon and Ting.
That's it.
Right you are!
Thank you!
God Bless You.

My favourites are all of the old ska/rocksteady stuff. Many of their well known songs have older faster ska versions. It blew my mind hearing One Love ska version for the first time.

hehe
