I thought it was not a shining example of the best of our sport. We've had some great superbowls, but this was neither a great contest nor particularly well played. The Colts-Patriots AFC Championship game (one of the two which determines the contestants in the superbowl) was a great game. The rain isn't an excuse for all those fumbles. Some of them, maybe, but it was sloppy play. It may be that all the balls used are not properly broken in, being "special" for this game only - and that from what I've heard makes them slippery and firmer, which gives a different feel. Clearly if that is the case, they can't do that anymore particularly in the rain.
