Food Poisening SucksFollow

While its not as bad as being sick for more than one day, food poisening just slams you to your knees (literally) and kicks your ***. I found out its worse though when you're trying to deal with a clingy baby and a 4 yr old with enough energy to keep the entire city of Boston lit for a week.

Having to run around a lot yesterday with the kids I decided to be lazy and grab some McDonalds Drive through with the thought I could actually relax for a few minutes before continuing on with my day. Unfortunately, the food did not agree with me and within an hour I was running to pray to the bathroom goddess.

It took 4 hours to be done running marathon laps to the bathroom in between taking care of the little guy. Im lucky that my mother doesnt live too far away and works as a teacher. I was able to call her up after school and asked her to come over to watch the kids while my body worked on dying. Ever gracious as she is, she swooped in, took charge, sent me to my room (which she got a kick out of seeing as she hasnt been able to do that to me since I was a kid) and allowed me time to recoup, while she fed my little guy and played video games with my bigger guy.

I woke up feeling on top of the world this morning, and have been able to continue as if nothing untoward happened, but I think Im off fast food for a long time. Anyone else get smacked upside the head with food poisening lately?

Not lately but a couple years back, while in college, so I was broke as hell, I ate a can of Starkist Tuna and it got me sick for 3 days. I slept on the bathroom floor I was so bad.

So I call up Starkist and tell'em what's up. Give them the product number, batch number, the works. They tell me they would "look into it". Ok, so I figured nothing would come of it.

A few weeks later I get a letter from them stating there was nothing wrong with the product and they were sorry to hear of my illness. In appreciation for calling and reporting the sickness from the tuna, they gave me some coupons for 12 free cans of tuna Smiley: banghead

I gave them to my neighbor.

tuna scares me. When I was a kid I was opening a can of tuna to make a sandwich, and noticed some dark fuzzy thing in the middle of the tuna can. It was half of a rat. It took me years to even try eating tuna again and still to this day I open a can up with trepidation

I got it Monday last week, but I have no kids and I work from home so that just meant explaining the strange noises while taking a phone call on the pot.

"That was theee uhh, radio. Be glad you can't smell over a phone."
"What?"
"Nothin'"

I haven't had it since. I don't even eat sea-food anymore. If it swims, ***** it.

Can't eat hard boiled eggs either. Haven't since I was 8.

I remember one time when I had some bad Taco Bell and I was continuously throwing up and dry heaving for an entire night. It freaked my brother out so bad that he was begging my dad to take me to the hospital.

I would rather be sh*tting than vomiting, that's for sure.

Edit: My brain is so not computing this morning.

What about both?
The dry heaving sucks. I remember thinking "I have nothing left to give!!!" but apparently, my body thought my brain was lying.

Occasionally I'll just binge on way too much fast food. I don't get food poisoning I just feel god awful for a day or two.

New Years Eve I ate some bad Japanese or something and spent most of the night on the pot. I'd come out for a beer and a smoke, but it didn't last very long. Smiley: frown

That's the worse, sitting on the pot while you have your head in a bucket.

Ugh...don't remind me. About four years ago, I got a nasty case of stomach flu. The puking was bad enough, but it was the unpleasant surprise that came out the other end completely without warning while I was heaving with my head in the bowl that REALLY made my night.

For the rest of the night, when I had to throw up, I'd do so in a bucket while sitting on the toilet...just in case.

ETA: *damn you Thumb.

Jonwin ate something on Thanksgiving that didn't agree with him, but seems no one else got sick, luckily.

I have IBS, so there have been many a time that I'm not sure if I've got food poisoning or just a bad case of IBS. I can't go near fish sandwiches or any other fast food seafood, due to some bad experiences over the years.

Nothing worst then having dry heaves, because you're in so much pain from your intestines cramping, while glue to the toilet and cover in sweat.

Some day I expect my neighbors to call the police, because I scream so much from the pain. We try to time our scenes for when we know they aren't home. Smiley: wink

There's no hope. You might want to just consider ending it.

I suggest you go over and help him out, then help us out. Don't forget the "spurned gay lover" murder suicide note for the police. We wouldn't want them confused as to your motives.

How do you want me to sign it? Gitslayer or just plain ole Git?

Hold on guys, while offering up witticisms concerning how and why folks should off themselves is all fine and dandy, I was really getting into the scat discussion the ladies were having, so let's back-burner the suicide stuff for now.

How are your ribs feeling DSD? Last time I got food poisoning, the vomiting wasn't the worst of it. I heaved so much, I strained the abdominal muscles so bad I fealt like I took a dozen shots to the ribs from Tyson. Figgin hurt just to take a deep breath.

I would consider being poisoned by McDonalds worse than spilling their hot coffee on yourself, so call your self up Johnny Cochran and get yourself a slice of the american dream.

I had food poisoning for the first time last year. Some undercooked halibut had me going from sitting on the toilet to leaning into the toilet to sitting on it again. I'll never eat halibut for the rest of my life.

Worst experience ever.

If Bob had meant us to eat tinned tuna he'd have given fish cans.

Buy fresh food and cook it yourself. Idiots.
