The Guinness Book of World Records says the heaviest baby ever was born to Anna Bates of Canada in 1879.

It weighed 23.12lb (10.8kg) and died 11 hours after birth.

Suck on that Brazil.

I bet most of those mothers were diabetic. Those babies are huge. We had a 12-pounder in here the other day. Gi-normous.

I'll bet pregnancy and delivery has long been inspiration for alien depiction.

Quote:
Bishop: I'm afraid I have some bad news.
Hudson: Well that's a switch.
Burke: Ripley? You know I expected more from you - I thought you'd be smarter than this.
Ripley: Well, I'm happy to disappoint you.
Ripley: How long after we're declared overdue can we expect a rescue?
Hicks: [pause] Seventeen days.
Hudson: *Seventeen days?* Hey man, I don't wanna rain on your parade, but we're not gonna last seventeen hours! Those things are gonna come in here just like they did before. And they're gonna come in here...
Ripley: Hudson!
Hudson: ...and they're gonna come in here AND THEY'RE GONNA KILL US!
Ripley: HUDSON! This little girl survived longer than that with no weapons and no training.
[to Newt]
Ripley: Right?
[Newt apes a salute]
Hudson: So why don't you put her in charge?

This is a really odd choice for someone to rate down. People never cease to amaze and entertain me.

17lbs. that's insane. I feel bad for that woman. I wonder what she looked like before she gave birth. Could she walk ok? There was a woman that lived next door to me and had quadruplets and combined they didn't weigh 17lbs.
