Yep, and she's young to boot! (circa 1979)

Sheesh, you make that sound like a bad thing. A naughty, naughty bad thing! Smiley: sly /spank!

I think the show has room for both elements: action and human drama. BSG does both well. There is nothing wrong with either. It's excellent entertainment all around. It's when it gets too heavy on one element that it can become tedious - doesn't matter which element.

I am fraking DYING waiting for Sunday. :( Gaeda? Anders? Bulldog? Starbuck?

If I hadn't read about that promo I would have knocked that down to Gaeda and Anders by now. But since someone said the three candidates from the promo, I guess it must be Gaeda.

Anders would be a cool fit though, since Three only met him once long ago and would explain the surprised, "You...". But then the "Please forgive me, I had no idea." seems to fit more with Gaeda. <Charlie Brown AUGH> *tears hair out*

i caught up. BSG on Demand Smiley: clap
although I still ahvne't seen the boxing episode and the one after that where they find the algae planet.

Wow, so Sundays we got Rome and BSG

I really just hope that they don't go crazy with the plot twists and make it out that the entire show is just a few "projections" from some key characters who turn out to have been Cylons.

I'm still going with my old theory

Quote:
Cylons and humans reach earth together and become standed and are forced to work together. The 13th colony has become savage from disease and war. The ships are put together in the ocean and they name the base "Atlantis", while many Cylons end up crashing in the desert and start spreading monotheism. During this time some of the the humans start making their way around the planet looking for the cylons and in some places they are later remembered as gods and legends, in the meanwhile the cylons are enslaved and forced to use their technology to build pyramids for some of the cylon hating refugess from Atlantis. Eventually the cylons are lead to freedom and one is born among them who is named David and is decended from the child of Athena. As the cylons are further persecuted for generations by the humans who have long since forgotten their origins one is born among the cylons who finally spreads the word of monotheism throughout the earth and humans stop believing in the gods. Eventually after a couple thousand years the Cylons are finally accepted and given their own country to fight for.(Israel)lol

I'm also kinda on the boat with Gbaji here

watching blooper reels now.. holy ****.. I'm totally convinced that they are all stoned. I mean WHY would they have a BONG on the set!? Smiley: lol

This thread is now about 1/28/07's show. Go!!!

YES! EXCELLENT! Dee and Lee stick together! (for now)

Honestly, I couldn't be happier about that. I know there's going to be an army of Starbuck ghey-fan-bois upset over this, and I do feel sorry for the Anders fans out there (*/comfort* pikko), but this is truly an awesome turn for the show :) Don't give fans what they expect. Woohoo!

The lengths to which they tried to get Baltar to fess up to his wrong doings was... wow. that was intense.

I'm dying to know what Baltar whispered into Gaeta ear that made him snap like that. $$ says something like "When I was on the cylon ship, I saw you walking around in there, number 12."

I thought LEe and Starbuck were finally gonna get together.. now more drama with undoubably ensue... unless they decide to stop with it for a bit. They mentioned noting about Starbuck's drawings though.

I don't think Baltar really whispered anyting to Gaeda.. prolly just "I'm going to whisper in your ear and they are going to think somehing's up".

Good eposode though.

By the way.. Ther are a few episodes broken up on Youtube if anyone needs to catch up... The Boxing one and the one after that I know is on there.

If Starbuck can do a complete 180 when Adama knocked her down a peg for she and tigh being dissention-makers as quickly as she did, she can get over this, at least for awhile. They have a lot to cover in the next few episodes, so I think the drama b/w them is going to go away for a long while. There's Six's interrogation, there's Baltar's trial, more moving forward towards earth, the Final 5, etc. Plenty of non-Lee/Kara things to do, right?

Er, comfort? Why? Because now I can't "marry" Anders? That's so intermediate school! I'm happy because him still being with Kara means he still gets screen time! Smiley: grin

I liked the episode as well, but was hoping for a little more storyline advancement. A filler episode was to be expected though. The bonus scene was pretty nice, but I was pretty upset that you couldn't see the whole thing at the SciFi site like advertised.

And even more upset to read that they're taking a Superbowl break next week!!!! Next episode is February 11!!

That's cause it was a filler. Kinda convenient...

I'd argue that the boxing episode was equally filler, so it's not like they don't toss them out pretty regularly. It's what happens when you have a storyline that is in principle "short", but you need to make it stretch out as long as possible. Let's be honest, the basic plotline is "humans fighting off cylons and trying to find earth". You can't actually allow the "reaching earth" plotline to move that quickly (cause it's basically got three parts: leaving to find earth, travelling towards earth, and arriving at earth). You have to keep them in the middle section for as long as the series lasts. That somewhat requires either adding a *ton* of unrelated drama along the way (which is what this series is doing), or adding a *ton* of "new stuff" along the way (which is what the original series did).

While I'm enjoying the series a lot, they're going to have to do a really great job of story writing to keep the relatively skimpy plot available to them going without losing steam or seeming to get "stuck". So far they've done pretty well, but honestly the drama does get a bit heavy and tedious.

But obviously if they reveal information about cylons and humans and such too quickly, they'll run out of the plot movement that the series kinda relies on. So unless they decide to start having the fleet encounter other aliens and humans along the way (like the original series did), they *really* have to go slow with that stuff.

I liked how they worked out the Starbuck/Lee thing. Chief was awesome - he's committed to his wife. I think Lee had some growing up to do and his drunken weepiness was embarrassing. But, still, he got to where he should be. To me, Starbuck is finally realizing what a great dude Anders is. So I think that's going to work out fine. I just hate to see Anders so castrated - it would great to see him do more commando stuff.

I've got to get online to watch the remainder of that "extra" scene between Six and the President.

Ya, Anders makes a great cylons agent....

And lee can suck a ****, not only is he a *****, he is a bad commander. Why the hell is he in charge of anything?

As for other comments, i beleive they could reveal the final five, more earth destinations, and the cylon master plan. Wow us, suprise us, rock our world. Dont take one original idea and milk it for 4 seasons. Use this one, give us the bang, then THINK SOMETHING NEW up.

Be creative BSG, or this will be your last season.
