Since the ex is from Indianapolis, this game will hold special meaning to me and I must go for the Bears.

I will also use my son's choice of "team to root for" to determine whether or not he is eating dinner that week.

Sit him down and put on some old Superfans skits. Nothing gets my Bears pride going like comparisons between Ditka and the Almighty, and massive amounts of Polish sausage (there's an easy FTFY).

The Colts can move the ball against anyone - but I'm not sure they can score touchdowns against the Bears. Then again, they didn't need any against the Ravens. I don't think the Bears can actually achieve first downs against the Colt defence - it will be a horrible mismatch. However, the Colts look like the little sisters of mercy trying to cover kickoffs...and with lots of field goals come lots of kickoffs. And Peyton will toss a couple to the Bear's defence.

I say:

Colts 15
Bears 10

Colts could beat the point spread if they ware down the Bears D or the Bears D realize they need to score (or score again) to get them back in the game and start taking stupid chances - which they usually don't do.

I predicted the Bears would beat New Orleans by 20 points. Get ready for 4 interceptions thrown by Peyton Manning. He's not gonna have the time to stand back for 4 seconds and throw the ball down the field 40-50 yards, and when he tries to he's going to get picked. Don't be fooled by how well the Colts D has played so far in the playoffs. Benson and Jones are going to bruise through the Colts front. Look for 220 yards rushing and 3 TDs from the Bears running game. Indy peaked getting by the Pats. The Bears are hungrier and have yet to really put a monster smack down game on someone. I'd hate to be the ribs of Wayne, Harrison, or Manning.

Bears by 20. Manning is going to have a hell of a time with a broken thumb.

He'll be alright. Rex can't throw half the time with two good ones. Low scoring game. I don't see the Bears offence scoring over 10 points. Now, they are the Bears, so I can see their defence or special teams scoring once (maybe even twice if they are extremely lucky) and that puts the upper limit of the Bear's scoring at around 17. If the Colts score a single touchdown, either Rex Grossman turns into the next Mark Rypien and has the one great game of his life or the Bears don't win.

I'd favor any of the top four AFC teams against anyone in the NFC - the level of competition is just so disperate. By my quick count, in the regular season AFC teams bested NFC teams 40 times out of 64 (40 wins, 24 losses). Only one NFC team had a winning record against the AFC (Dallas) and ten (10) AFC teams had winning records agains the NFC.

The Bears beat the Jets and Buffalo and lost to New England and Miami. Yep, Miami who had 3 wins against the NFC (against one loss) and 3 wins against the AFC (against 9 losses).
