Barney Miller was a sitcom about a detective squad room. Great stuff. Joph reminds me of Steve Landesberg as Det. Arthur Dietrich.
If you liked Kids in the Hall, I highly recommend checking out SCTV had the Canadian Second City troupe (like the Chicago one). Stars like John Candy, Joe Flaherty, Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Dave Thomas, Martin Short, Rick Moranis and Harold Ramis got started there.
