Fleven mentioned that he and his wife would be saving up episodes and watching them two at a time and I thought this might be a good idea seeing as how this is one of those shows that's great to watch in multiples. But alas, I found myself bored and uninspired as far as the scrapbook I need to finish in two weeks goes and ended up watching it alone since the hubby had knocked out early.
What a relief it was to see everyone back exactly where we'd left them. Octavian and Atia both looked a tad chunkier, but the premiere still had the same feel to it as the first season. Antony's antics were great, but I couldn't help but chuckle that none of it was his idea.
As fascinating as I find the show because of the scripting and acting, I find myself more intrigued by the Lucius/Pullo storyline because the main Rome storyline has of course already been spoiled by the basic high school course in history and literature while the story of these two soldiers pretty much ends after the first few episodes of the show take place.
I was very relieved that Vorenus had *not* in fact killed the children in a fit of rage as the previews had led me to believe. Of course, all that relief was worth **** considering how I feel now after that last line out of Erastus. Opinions? Was he telling the truth or just getting one last dig into Vorenus before he died? Did he sell them instead? Did someone of the conspirators hire him to take the children?
Also, Ireni? Did she marry Pullo so that she can kill him later or has she genuinely moved on given her status and slave mentality?
