My sister used to live in Chicago, so I have a limited working knowledge of the area.

Well we already know Nobby's a d'ick.

Joph, Twiz lil' help here? I was checking out Northalsted Market Days which happens to be running on the second weekend of August; however, I couldn't help but notice there seemed to be a lot of guys without any shirts on hanging around with other guys without any shirts on. Is this a ghey event that just doesn't announce it? I know how much y'all are into doing gay musical events so I figured you might know. Three stages does sound kinda cool though.

Were you by any chance looking at the Pride Fest pictures? Cause if so, there's a subtle HINT there.

No no, I'm quite sure it was the Market Days link. Some drag queens in there too. But I'm not sure if it's just one of those city things where people of all types hang out and the gheys just look the most outrageous or if that area of Chicago is Gayville, like Greenwich in NYC.

From what I know, Northalstead is in Boys Town, which is a predominantly gay area. Market Days is a gay and lesbian event, but you don't need to be gay or lesbian to attend. I'd be up for it.

Not the street--the event.

Boys Town, also known as Lakeview, borders the lake and lies between Belmont and Grace Streets--once you see the huge rainbow pillars at the intersection of Belmont and Clark, you'll know you're in the right place. Halsted Street and Broadway are the best-known streets in Boys Town, and the people-watching is always intoxicating.

That's a little too wide a swath calling "Lakeview" Boys Town lol. Reminds me though, on the trading exchanges of Chicago, one of the never tiring practical pranks was to page people with the phone number of this gay bar called The Manhole. It's like a delevel sound effect when you see the person call and know he is hearing the bartender answer "Manhole." Classic.

I know where we can go!!!
Quote:
The Leather Archives and Museum
6418 N. Greenview Avenue

Located in a former synagogue in Rogers Park, the museum specializes in leather paraphernalia and literature. The exhaustive collection features items relating to the leather lifestyle, from international leather contests to magazines. After a brief tour of the history and memorabilia related to the leather fetish, head to Eagle, a top leather bar a few miles from the museum.

Would be interesting to go check how the neigborhood has been metro-gentified after all these years. My sister and her husband used to live a block from Wrigley Field, on Addison in the early 70's.

Groovy.

Can't one of the premium members just start a locked journal rather than using the myspace group. I hate myspace and I know I'm not the only one and we're already on here anyway. Just password protect the journal and give those of us planning to attend the password. Easy.

I know, I'm so demanding.

Anyone have thoughts on a not too expensive hotel (with a bar)? Also, we should really make it three nights this time, in my opinion. I feel like I hardly got to spend any time with some folks.

You'll have to mud-wrestle the boyfriend for it.
